    What is Research Methodology?

In this episode, we delve into the general components of the methodology chapter, a crucial aspect of any research study. Part 1 introduces the concept of methodology and highlights its significance in the research process. Just like building a house, researchers need a solid plan to guide their work. We discuss how the methodology stage focuses on outlining the "how" of the research, including justifying design choices with references to academically credible sources. The importance of methodology in making a study replicable is also emphasized. Moving on to Part 2, we explore the specific components of the methodology chapter. We begin with an introduction that outlines the aims and structure of the chapter. Then, we delve into research approaches, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. Sampling techniques, such as probability and non-probability sampling, are explained, highlighting their role in representing the target population. Data collection methods and tools, such as surveys, interviews, and observations, are discussed as crucial elements of the methodology chapter. We also touch upon data analysis techniques, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Ethical considerations, such as informed consent, participant confidentiality, and proper data handling, are addressed to ensure ethical research practices. We also explore ensuring validity and reliability of research findings. The episode concludes with a summary of everything discussed in the research methodology section.
