It’s 9:02 AM, and employees at the Carbondale Police Department are missing a colleague. Richie Minton, a dispatcher in his mid-20s, failed to show up for his 7 AM shift, and his coworkers are beginning to worry about him. Suddenly, the dispatchers receive an emergency call from Richie himself. Richie explains that the deceased person is his own ex-girlfriend, 21-year-old Molly Young. Soon, the police are dispatched to Richie’s apartment. And, as a coworker of sorts, they treat Richie like a victim. He washes his hands, changes his clothes, and soon, he’s off to the station to give his account. However, Molly’s family, who are suddenly swarmed with officers requesting anything and everything from her room, feel they have it all wrong: they believed then and still believe now that Richie killed their daughter, and investigators covered his tracks.
