This time of year can be busy as we kick off the summer months, so we've decided to do a month of staff picks looking back on our favorite episodes! We have an awesome team of women here at Magnify, and this month they are jumping on to share some of their favorite picks from all of our past episodes. We’ve all noticed an increasing emphasis on covenants and temples! In April general conference the word “covenants” was used 194 times! There were 15 new temples announced, bringing the worldwide count to 350. And the First Presidency updated the temple recommend interview questions and issued a new statement on wearing the temple garment. It feels momentous!  
 
But there hasn’t always been a lot of dialogue around this subject. In this episode, Michelle Torsak, Director of Content for Deseret Book, and podcast producer Sarah Collins have asked Melinda Brown, author and teacher, to join with her expertise. Mindy believes that when we understand the significance and purpose of covenants and the temple garment—the WHY—it makes honoring them a joy. And it gives us language to talk about it with others—especially our children. This conversation promises to expand your view of the temple! It’s a good one!

This month's book club pick was The Law of Love in Action by former NFL and BYU quarterback Steve Young. As a community we've been reading this book together and discuss the different aspects of the law of love: loving as God loves, seeking another's healing, and expecting nothing in return.
 
Podcast producer Sarah Collins is joined by Magnify women Taylor Ricks Mele, Shima Baughman, and Hilary Craner as they discuss all things living with love.

As we have been reading The Law of Love in Action for our bookclub this month, it’s brought to mind some of the great Magnify moments of the past 80 episodes. Next week, we’re having a Magnify book club episode where we’ll discuss all things Law of Love IN ACTION. This year we felt the Spirit when a special message was given to us from newly set apart acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve, President Holland. He reminded us that, “God hears every prayer we offer and responds to each of them according to the path He has outlined for our perfection.”  
Sometimes we might forget this or feel distance from this promise, but in this episode, Kaylen Nelson shares a takeaway that she heard from President Holland: our prayers never go to the “heavenly answering machine” and are always picked up and answered.
