The Murder of Kim Thompson

On the 9th of August 2025, Kim Thompson was found unresponsive in her bed by her husband Michael. All the police and paramedics entered the house, it looked as though Kim had taken her own life. The Case of Courtney Angus

In July 2025, 20-year-old Courtney Angus moved into a house share with a man called Michael Doherty, excited about her new independence and her upcoming 21st birthday celebrations. But just 2 days after she moved in, Michael started to make unwanted advances toward Courtney and his reaction to her rejection would be fatal. As the police started to gather evidence, they discovered that Michael had a conviction for a sexual assault before and a history of abusive behaviour towards women... but this was never flagged because he changed his name as it was legal for him to do so, even though he was a sex offender. Now Della Wright, a survivor of child sexual abuse, is fighting for change, after her perpetrator changed his name to evade authorities and keep his past hidden. She's fighting for 'Della's Law, which will end this loophole that has seen thousands of registered sex offenders 'go missing' under the watch of authorities. This is REAL. Introducing... Investigating Essex: Dying To Be Saved

In 2023, the UK government announced it would be investigating the deaths of 2000 patients, who died under Essex mental health services, as part of a public inquiry. With the inquiry now underway, some of the families of those who lost their lives, whilst in the care of Essex Partnership University Trust and its predecessors, are telling their tragic and heartbreaking stories. Many of these families still have no idea why their loved ones died and they are hoping this inquiry will hold to account those who have repeatedly failed patients in their care. This series addresses catastrophic failures including proven sexual assaults from staff on patients, the falsifying of care plans after a patient has died, unexplained deaths and reviews harrowing undercover footage from inside two mental health inpatient wards in Essex.
