The Four Levels of Planning That Actually Help You Accomplish Your Goals

Think back to January. You set some goals for the year. Now be honest, have you made any real progress on them? If that question stings a little, you're not alone, and it's not because you picked the wrong goal or lost your motivation. It's because most of us were never taught the planning structure that actually holds a goal together past March. In this episode, I'm breaking down the four levels of planning that work together to carry your goals through the entire year, starting from the ground up instead of the usual top-down approach. In This Episode, I'll Cover: The most detailed level of planning we do, and why it's actually the one that gives you the fastest wins. The level that quietly prevents you from waking up next month just as overbooked as you were this month. Why one specific planning rhythm is what keeps you connected to your longer-term goals and tells you when it's time to pivot. The biggest mistake I see people make when they try to run all four levels off their Google Calendar alone.Where most people's goal setting completely falls apart, and it has nothing to do with the goal itself.Mentioned in this episode: Plan-a-Palooza - https://www.megansumrell.com/plan ________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? Treat Your Bank Account Like Your Calendar with Mike Michalowicz

You've heard the dreaded B word. Budget. Maybe you've never found one that actually sticks or maybe you're the opposite, and you feel pretty on top of your money already. Either way, this episode is going to shift how you see it. I first found Mike Michalowicz back in 2019 when I read Profit First, and it completely changed how I manage the finances here at The Pink Bee. So when his newest book, The Money Habit, came out, I devoured it. This one applies those same principles to home finances, which means you'll love it even if you're not an entrepreneur.  One of my favorite parts of this conversation is when Mike and I realized his money system works exactly like the way our community already plans their time. Turns out the thing that finally makes your money make sense is treating your bank account like your calendar. In This Episode, I'll Cover: Why traditional budgets set you up to fail before you even start, and what Mike says to build instead. The number of hours a day the average person spends worrying about money, backed by a 2025 study that genuinely stopped me in my tracks. The system Mike uses to take money out of one confusing pile and give it the same at-a-glance clarity your calendar has.The one word swap that changes whether you stay buried in debt or actually dig your way out.Where to start if the whole thing feels like too much, because you do not have to do it all at once.Connect With Mike Michalowicz: www.mikemotorbike.com www.facebook.com/MikeMichalowiczFanPage www.instagram.com/mikemichalowicz www.linkedin.com/in/mikemichalowicz ________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? What I Know Now at 53 That I Wish I Knew at 33

Last week I turned 53, and I've found myself sitting with the lessons that took me decades and more than a few hard moments to truly understand. These aren't quick tips or things I read somewhere. They're the truths I learned by living them, the ones that eventually became the foundation for the work I do and everything I now teach women about their time and their capacity. This episode is a little different and a lot more personal than what I usually share. I'm opening up about five of these lessons, and I want you to know going in that none of them are about doing more or adding to your already full plate. Every single one is about giving yourself permission to finally put something down, and my hope is that you walk away feeling a little more seen and a little less alone in whatever season you're carrying right now. In This Episode, I'll Cover: The part of caregiving nobody warned me about, and the trip that made me realize it.The rest lesson I still catch myself getting wrong, even though I know better. What I finally did after years of saying "I'm drowning" and having nothing change. What I would say today to a woman who's just been told she's using her kids as an excuse.Resources Mentioned: A Better Share by Dr. Morgan Cutlip: bit.ly/4p9psDB________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? Routines, Habits, and Why You've Been Getting Them Mixed Up

Most people think the goal is to turn all their routines into habits. That belief is quietly wrecking a lot of good routines. I've been hearing this come up over and over in my community, and I finally had to address it head-on. So many women are beating themselves up over something that isn't even a real measure of success. In this episode, I'm clearing up the confusion between routines and habits once and for all, and sharing why the answer might completely change how you feel about the routines you already have. What You'll Learn: Why the most common definition of "success" with routines is completely wrongThe one thing a routine actually needs to be The real reason copying someone else's routine almost always backfiresTwo traps that are probably keeping your routines from sticking________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? The Truth About Following Someone Else's Morning Routine

If you have ever tried the 5 AM Club or the Miracle Morning and felt like you failed at it, this episode is going to feel like a deep breath. So many of us have downloaded the perfect morning routine, set the early alarm, committed to the exact sequence of activities, and then watched the whole thing fall apart within a week. And when it falls apart, we do not blame the routine. We blame ourselves. In this episode, I am breaking down the 5 AM Club, where it came from, and the one detail about the person who created it that changes how you should think about the entire approach. I looked into the research, the formula, and the man behind the book, and what I found is something almost nobody talks about when they are handing out morning routine advice. If you have ever wondered why these expert routines work beautifully for some people and feel impossible for you, this is the conversation you have been waiting for. What You'll Learn: What the 5 AM Club actually is, including the exact formula it is built on and where it came fromThe one thing about the creator of this routine that should change how you evaluate any productivity adviceThe piece of the morning routine conversation that almost no expert is willing to talk aboutWhat a morning routine is really supposed to do for you, and why it has nothing to do with how productive your day isMentioned in the Episode: Learn my step-by-step process for building a morning routine around your real life and personality, not someone else's in Master Your Morning: www.megansumrell.com/morning ________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? What Smart Women Get Wrong About Delegation with Emily Morgan

Most of us have tried delegation. We've handed things off, watched it fall apart, and quietly decided it's more trouble than it's worth. Emily Morgan has spent nearly 20 years studying exactly why that happens and what the people who actually crack it are doing differently. Emily is the founder of Delegate Solutions, a fractional executive assistant company, and author of Let It Go (2nd Edition, out July 23rd). She brings real frameworks to this conversation, not just the mindset piece, but a full system for figuring out what only you should be doing, what's draining you that doesn't have to, and how to actually hand things off in a way that sticks. I walked away from this one with a few things I'm changing immediately. What you'll learn in this episode: Why delegation keeps failing and what the people who actually crack it are doing differentlyThe four-quadrant Delegate Freedom Analysis, including what Emily calls the "suck bucket" and the "martyr zone"The "Act Your Wage" exercise that puts a real dollar amount on every task you're holding ontoWhy the people on your team actually want to be delegated toWhat tasks people think are "too personal" to outsource and why that thinking is costing youConnect with Emily Website: www.delegatesolutions.com Linkedin: www.linkedin.com/in/delegatesolutions Facebook: www.facebook.com/DelegateSolutions Sister company: www.learnwithverve.com ________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? The Part of Productivity AI Can't Give You

The noise around productivity has gotten really loud lately, and I think a lot of it has to do with AI. There are apps, tools, and technology promising to 10X your output, and every corner of the internet is telling you how to squeeze more into your day. But what if that constant push to produce more, faster, is actually making you worse at the very thing it's claiming to help you with? In this episode, I'm breaking down why two of the most important types of productivity are being completely ignored right now and what it's costing you. What You'll Learn: Why the push to always be producing is working against you in ways you might not see yetThe type of productivity that happens when you step away from your to-do list completelyHow well-meaning advice is quietly converting your best thinking time into more output modeWhy what happens when you sleep matters more to your productivity than any app or tool ever couldTwo small things you can do this week to start getting it back________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed? Why Eat the Frog Is Setting You Up to Fail

You've probably heard the productivity advice that says you should tackle your hardest task first thing in the morning. Eat the frog, they call it. Get the big, heavy, ugly thing done before you do anything else, and the rest of your day is downhill from there. Sounds great. Except... what happens when life lands in your lap before you ever get to the frog? If you've been trying this method and quietly wondering why it's not working for you, this episode is going to be a relief. I couldn't make it work either. And in this episode, I'm sharing exactly why this advice, despite its good intentions, may actually be causing more harm than good for women living full, real, chaotic lives. Plus, I'm giving you a better way to think about it that will finally get your most important work moving. What You'll Learn: The sneaky pattern that happens when your morning gets hijacked and you can't do the hard thing firstWhat happened when I tried to use Eat the Frog to write my book and why it completely fell apartThe one question to ask yourself instead that changes everythingHow to find the real window in your week where focused work will actually stick________________________________ 💻 Free Training Overwhelmed?
