    E-164 (EN)-Rose Wang-COO of Bluesky 🦋

    # 🎙️ Episode 164 — Rose WangIn this episode of the OsProgramadores Podcast, Marcelo sits down with Rose Wang, Chief Operating Officer of Bluesky, for a wide-ranging conversation about career, social networks, decentralization, online communities, artificial intelligence, and the future of the Internet.Rose brings a particularly interesting perspective to the conversation: her career has taken her from entrepreneurship and customer experience to technology leadership and, today, helping operate one of the most talked-about open social networks.---# 👩‍💼 About the GuestRose Wang is the Chief Operating Officer of Bluesky, the open social network built around the AT Protocol. Her career has included entrepreneurship, customer experience, technology, and operations, giving her a diverse perspective on how technology products are built and how communities grow.At Bluesky, Rose works on the strategy and operations behind an alternative vision for social networking—one where users and communities can have more choice and control over how social experiences are built.Bluesky's approach is closely connected to the AT Protocol, an open protocol designed to support a more distributed social ecosystem rather than putting the entire experience under the control of a single platform.---# 💬 In This EpisodeDuring our conversation, we talk about:👩‍💼 Rose's career journey that led her to Bluesky🦋 What Bluesky is trying to build🌐 Social networks and how they have changed the way we communicate🔓 Decentralization and what it means in practice🏘️ The importance of communities in online spaces🧩 The AT Protocol and the idea of an open social ecosystem🤖 Artificial Intelligence and its impact on social networks💼 Career advice for people who want to follow a similar path🚀 Entrepreneurship, experimentation, and taking unconventional career paths📚 Learning from different industries and experiencesAnd much more!---# 🦋 Why Bluesky? One of the central ideas behind Bluesky is that social networking doesn't necessarily have to mean giving a single company complete control over the platform, algorithms, moderation systems, and user experience. The project aims to create an ecosystem where different applications, communities, feeds, and moderation approaches can coexist. That raises some fascinating questions:Who owns your social graph?Who decides what you see?Who controls moderation? Can communities have more control over the spaces they create? These are not simply technical questions—they are questions about the future of the Internet and the communities we build on it.---# 🔗 Links🔗 Rose Wang on LinkedInhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/rosewang20/🦋 Rose Wang on Bluesky — Business Profilehttps://bsky.app/profile/rose.bsky.team🦋 Blueskyhttps://bsky.app/🌐 AT Protocolhttps://atproto.com/🌍 OsProgramadores Websitehttps://osprogramadores.com📺 OsProgramadores YouTube Channelhttps://www.youtube.com/@OsProgramadores🎧 OsProgramadores on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/💬 OsProgramadores Telegram Grouphttps://t.me/osprogramadores---# 🎧 Enjoy the Episode! If you're interested in **technology, social networks, decentralization, online communities, AI, entrepreneurship, or building a career in tech**, this is an episode you don't want to miss. And if you've ever wondered whether there is a different way to build social networks—and a different way to build your own career—this conversation with Rose Wang is a great place to start.🦋 **Listen, share, and join the conversation!**#OsProgramadores #Podcast #Bluesky #SocialNetworks #Decentralization #OpenSource #ATProtocol #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Technology #Software #TechCareer #Community

    E-159 (EN)-Emmanuel Guefif-Software Developer @ De Marque

🎙️ Episode 159 — Emmanuel Guefif In this episode of the OsProgramadores Podcast, Marcelo sits down with Emmanuel Guefif to discuss unconventional career paths, lifelong learning, software craftsmanship, and the curiosity that drives great engineers. From writing his first QBasic program as a teenager, to becoming a teacher, and later reinventing himself as a software developer through the intensive 42 Québec program, Emmanuel shares an inspiring story about passion, persistence, and the joy of building things. Emmanuel Guefif is a software developer, musician, educator, and lifelong learner who believes that curiosity is one of the most powerful forces behind personal and professional growth. His journey into technology began at the age of 14, when he wrote his first program: 💾 A Greatest Common Divisor calculator in QBasic. Instead of following a traditional path into software engineering, Emmanuel initially pursued sociology and became an elementary school teacher, dedicating himself to helping children discover the joy of learning and nurturing their natural curiosity. 👨‍🏫 Teacher first. 💻 Developer later. A chance encounter with the father of one of his students in Victoria, Canada—a Python specialist—rekindled his passion for programming and ultimately changed the direction of his career. Driven by determination and a love for learning, Emmanuel joined 42 Québec, completing its demanding core curriculum while studying more than 50 hours per week, eventually securing an internship and launching his professional software career. Today, Emmanuel combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of people and learning processes, focusing on translating real-world problems into elegant software solutions. He firmly believes that programming is not merely about writing code: 🧠 It's about understanding systems. 🤝 It's about understanding people. 🚀 It's about continuous improvement. One example he shares illustrates this mindset perfectly: after revisiting a slow statistics query from an earlier project, careful analysis using indexes and EXPLAIN ANALYZE reduced execution time from 45 seconds to just 500 milliseconds—a reflection of both technical growth and craftsmanship. Outside of software, Emmanuel enjoys: 🎸 Playing music to unwind. 🛠️ Building things. 📚 Learning about what motivates and inspires people. During our conversation, we discuss: 🚀 Non-traditional paths into software engineering 👨‍🏫 Teaching and learning as lifelong skills 🧠 Curiosity as a professional superpower 💻 The experience of studying at 42 Québec 🐍 Rediscovering programming through Python ⚡ Database performance tuning and optimization 🔍 Using EXPLAIN ANALYZE to solve real-world problems 🏗️ Software craftsmanship and continuous improvement 🤝 Translating human problems into software solutions 🎸 Creativity, music, and engineering 🔗 Emmanuel Guefif on LinkedIn 👉 https://www.linkedin.com/in/eguefif/ 🌍 OsProgramadores Website 👉 https://osprogramadores.com 📺 OsProgramadores YouTube Channel 👉 https://www.youtube.com/@OsProgramadores 🎧 OsProgramadores on Spotify 👉 https://open.spotify.com/show/2Rvj7O5Z0JwZ0uJzQ4jY2x 💬 OsProgramadores Telegram Group 👉 https://t.me/osprogramadores 🔔 Enjoyed this episode?
