Nobody Prepared Us for THIS Part of Adulthood (Expectations vs. Reality)

Growing up, we thought adulthood would look a certain way. Get a degree, find a great job, make money, fall in love, build a family, and live happily ever after. Then we actually became adults. 😂 In this episode of Finding Harmony, Drew and Davrielle are back from their family vacation and diving into one of life’s biggest reality checks: the difference between what we expected adulthood to be and what it actually is. From realizing that a college degree doesn’t guarantee success to discovering that some friendships don’t last forever, we’re unpacking the lessons nobody really prepared us for. We also get into the realities of marriage, the pressure to achieve childhood dreams, watching our parents grow older, and learning that sometimes the most valuable things in life aren’t things money can buy. In this episode, we discuss: • Why getting a degree doesn’t guarantee a successful career • The surprising realities of money, success, and financial freedom • Why friendships change as you get older • Learning to forgive people without restoring every relationship • Watching your parents age and appreciating their sacrifices • Why love alone isn’t enough to sustain a marriage • How marriage and parenthood change who you become • Letting go of childhood dreams that no longer fit your life • How childhood experiences can influence your confidence and relationships as an adult Some of these lessons are funny. Some are uncomfortable. And others completely change how you see life. But perhaps that’s what growing up is really about: learning to embrace the life you’re living rather than constantly comparing it to the one you imagined. Now we want to hear from you: What’s ONE thing about adulthood that nobody prepared you for? Share it in the comments. We’d love to hear your experience. Welcome to Finding Harmony, where we talk about life, love, health, purpose, and what it really means to live in alignment. 🎙️ Hosted by Drew Harmony & Davrielle Gardiner This episode is sponsored by Cariloha Bahamas.
