“Trust and Trauma” - Black Community and Mental Health Part 2

This week! Liv Kennedy, Candace the Magnificent and Jeremy Cobb are joined once again by the wonderful Perry Clark and Sekayi Edwards for Part 2 of their Black History Month mental health conversation, and the final episode of this year’s Black History Month series. Together, they dive into the Black community’s relationship with therapy, what it really takes to build trust between patients and practitioners, and the growing concerns around AI in mental health spaces and what may be lost when human connection is removed. They also reflect on generational trauma, the realities of healing work, and how families and communities can help POC children recognise and process racism in ways that empower rather than silence. A candid, necessary, and deeply human conversation to round out this year’s Black History Month discussions.   Mentioned Links Sekayi's Therapy Services Perry's Therapy Services Also - did you miss out on our first 🎉FULLY FUNDED🎉 Kickstarter, the City of the Black Rose Campaign setting, in collaboration with Roll and Play Press? “Personal Stories” - Indie AP Production Roundtable

This week! Jeremy Cobb and Candace the Magnificent introduce a roundtable style episode with those who are the heart of the industry - Ambrose, Alix, Calamity and Robert Madison II, AKA MadDrRob! Together, they explore how they choose the stories they tell and the motivations behind those decisions. The conversation reflects on how the need for representation influences creative work within tabletop, and how that responsibility shows up at the table. They also turn to the horror genre, discussing how they navigate it as creators of colour and what it means to engage with fear, tension, and storytelling through that lens. A thoughtful and grounded discussion on craft, representation, and storytelling with intention. “Worthy of Belonging” - Intersectional Storytelling Roundtable

This week! As part of Black History Month’s centenary year, Jeremy Cobb and Candace the Magnificent welcome a powerful panel into the Halfling Stadium: Amihan “The Rose Cleric” , Aetherius Bordeaux, “Lamia” Cassie Walker and Queon Story. Marking 100 years of Black History Month, the conversation centres on the challenges of existing in the TTRPG space while telling authentic stories as a Person of Colour. Together, they unpack the spicy realities of the industry, including visibility at tables, who gets platformed, tokenism, structural barriers, and the uneven ladder of success. All four guests are storytellers in their own right, and the episode highlights how they interweave heritage, lived experience, and creativity into their work. From Black storytelling traditions to the responsibility of building inclusive spaces, this roundtable reflects on the weight and the beauty of carrying culture into fantasy, and what it truly means to uplift other POC creatives. “The Funny Ha-Has” - The Azeem Jimoh Interview

This week! Candace the Magnificent and Jeremy Cobb are joined by content creator and voice actor Azeem Jimoh, also known as BlackPurist. Azeem shares his nerdy origins, from his favourite Sonic game to the creators who inspired him to start making content, and how Ryan Higa’s work led him into content creation and voice acting. The conversation dives into overlooked were-creatures, including the criminally underrated were-sloth, and highlights Azeem’s wider work, including his in-depth video on racism in fantasy and how race is constructed in fictional worlds. Towards the end of the episode, Azeem talks about what’s coming up in 2026, including two new shows and his involvement with The Runedocks, before closing out with his brilliant Tale From The Table. Content Warning:This episode contains discussion of gun violence, blood, and murder. This week! Candace the Magnificent and Jeremy Cobb discuss some of the major events currently unfolding in the United States. The majority of the episode focuses on the murder of Renee Good and the current ICE situation, examining the fear, violence, and lasting terror surrounding these events. They also explore developments involving Venezuela and Greenland, the damage the current US administration is doing to the people of America, and how cultural elements in art are never 'small', but deeply connected forces that shape and influence society in powerful ways.
