1Call With Griff

Griff Cotter

There are whole worlds living right next to ours that most of us never see. People who built something from nothing. People who came through things that would break most of us. I walked away from my whole world to start over in one I knew nothing about. So every week I sit down with someone who already found success in theirs and ask how they actually did it: the story, the struggle, what it really took. My hope is you walk away with something you can use. And yeah, I'm building 1Call Home Services. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. Want to be a guest? → 1callpodcast.vercel.app

THE FOREMAN. — Bo Kyle: From Rock Bottom to Foreman | 1Call with Griff Ep 8

Bo Kyle is our commercial construction HVAC foreman. I've known him for a while now but this was the first time I really got to sit down and hear his story. We have a lot in common, to say the least. I appreciate how honest he is and admire the life he is building. That's what the show is all about, right? Bo did it the way you're supposed to. Vo-tech, a welding trade, his own house at twenty-four. Then the drinking got heavier, and it became more than just drinking. He wound up losing everything and he found himself at his bottom. For Bo that bottom was fourteen days in an ICU in Montana, and a car he sold for two hundred bucks to get on a plane home. One thing I've learned about being at the bottom is that you can either work on digging yourself out or work on digging the floor a little deeper. That moment is so pivotal. It's the one I look for in all stories. I love redemption. I love the grind. Bo's story has it all, and something everyone can relate to. Bo told me all of this from his truck at work and then, after we lost connection, from his hotel room. That to me says a lot about who he is. I am excited to share it with you! 🎧 Also on Apple Podcasts + Spotify — search "1Call with Griff": https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/id6788134981 1Call with Griff is brought to you by Service 360 Group — HVAC, plumbing, and electrical in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She Won Everything There Is to Win — Tayla Jones

Tayla Jones has won just about everything there is to win in off-road racing — six-day world championships, three straight GNCC titles, AMA Rider of the Year as a rookie. And somewhere in all that winning, she lost the reason she started. This one's about what happens after you get the thing you were chasing — and what it takes to fall back in love with it. Tayla came to the States on her own as a teenager and built a career most riders only dream about. It nearly cost her everything before she figured out what actually mattered. Where she landed — her definition of success now — is the part I can't stop thinking about. One of the most impressive, and most honest, people I've had on the show. Episode 5 of 1Call with Griff — Tayla Jones is live now. 🎧 Also on Apple Podcasts + Spotify — search "1Call with Griff" or go to https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/id6788134981 Want on the show? → https://1callpodcast.vercel.app 0:00 Intro 2:18 Growing up racing in Australia 8:38 Thrown in the deep end: Six Days at 16 14:29 Coming to America 24:04 The KR4 ride (and how she met her wife) 25:31 Winning everything in 2017 31:42 When winning started to feel like pressure 34:35 Stuck: the green-card years 39:12 The injury streak 40:11 Breaking her neck 42:04 Finding her why 50:21 The comeback 53:26 A bucket-list WMX ride 56:23 Women in the sport 59:14 What success means now 62:49 Wrap-up #offroadracing #gncc #wmx #podcast #1CallWithGriff
