Warriors' Season Ends in Game 5 Loss to Timberwolves + Celtics Force Game 6

Pam and Alex discuss the end of the Warriors season and the Celtics forcing a Game 6. In last night's game, the Golden State Warriors were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs after a 121-110 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals. The Timberwolves clinched the series 4-1, advancing to the next round. Jonathan Kuminga led the Warriors with 26 points, while Anthony Edwards contributed 27 points for Minnesota. The game was notable for the absence of Warriors star Stephen Curry, who missed half of Game 1 and all of game 2-5 due to a hamstring injury. This loss marks the end of Golden State's postseason run. Where do the Warriors go from here? What will they look like next season? The New York Knicks suffered a 127-102 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at TD Garden. This defeat extended the series to a 3–2 lead for the Knicks, who now return home for Game 6 with a chance to clinch the series. Despite the absence of star player Jayson Tatum, the Celtics delivered a dominant performance. Derrick White and Luke Kornet stepped up, contributing significantly to the team's success. The Knicks faced challenges throughout the game, with key players like OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges having off nights and Brunson piling up 5 fouls in the 3rd quarter alone and fouling out early in the 4th quarter. Their underwhelming performances were a factor in the team's loss. Carolina Hurricanes: Morning After another Kochetkov shutout

Pyotr Kochetkov made 27 saves, Brady Skjei scored the lone goal of the game and the Canes beat the Red Wings, 1-0 in Detroit. Carolina closes out their longest road trip of the season 5-0-1 and have now extracted at least one point from 10 consecutive road games (6-0-4). The win, coupled with the Devils loss to the Stars (Saturday's opponent at PNC Arena) narrows New Jersey's lead in the Metro to 6 points over the Hurricanes and Penguins. Carolina is 6-0-2 in their last 8 and will host Seattle on Thursday as they open a 4-game home stand.

Morning After the hats come out for The Captain

The Carolina Hurricanes needed a bounce-back effort after Friday's loss to the Islanders. And, they could use some confidence heading into Tuesday's Metro showdown with the Rangers in New York. Jordan Staal, saw to it that those goals would be met. The Captain scored three times, ringing up his first hat trick in almost 10 years -- and the first for the Hurricanes this season -- in a 5-2 win over the Ducks. The Canes head to Madison Square Garden with a 2-point lead over the Rangers with 9 games left to play.

Carolina Hurricanes: Morning After Aho's second hat trick

Sebastian Aho broke open a 2-2 game with 3 consecutive goals as the Carolina Hurricanes skated past the New York Islanders, 5-2, at UBS Arena on Long Island. Aho's 15th goal came in transition, off a feed from Teuvo Teravainen, and put the Hurricanes ahead, 3-2, in the 2nd period. Aho's second was entirely his doing, stealing a puck deep in the Islanders zone and beating Ilya Sorokin past the blocker side. His third was a hard-working empty net slider and closed out the scoring. Jordan Staal had a goal and an assist in the win. The Hurricanes are off until Wednesday when they play in Dallas.

Morning After completing the Boston purchase (Canes own Bruins)

The Hurricanes battled through a really tough first period with a 1-0 lead. Then they hit the accelerator and raced away from Boston, 6-0. The Canes sweep the Bruins 3-0-0 in the season series, outscoring them 16-1. Sebastian Aho scored 2 goals. Andrei Svechnikov and Teuvo Teravainen each had 3-point nights. Freddie Andersen rung up his 2nd shutout of the season against the Bruins. And, Jordan Staal scored his first goal in 36 games. It was a good night in Boston.
