S1E8: The Murder of Chong Yang

On November 16, 2018, 68-year-old Chong Mua Yang—a Hmong immigrant, war veteran, and lifelong hunter—was found face-down in the snow, shot in the back of the head. The backpack, knife, and shotgun he'd taken on his deer hunt were missing. His footprints were the only ones leading in… but not the only ones leading out. The investigation would take six years, involve Google geofence warrants, racist text messages, GPS timelines, a can of Scent Killer, and a shocking interview in Miami that turned the entire case upside down. Was this a hate crime? A hunting “accident”? Or something even darker? In this episode of Blood Trails, host Jordan Sillars walks you through every twist and misdirection—from the first frantic phone call to the moment detectives finally identified two suspects whose own words may become their undoing. This is the story of a man who survived war, built a life from nothing, and was taken from his family by someone hiding in the same woods he loved. Want more Blood Trails? Check out the Case File. On April 18, 2019, 57-year-old Wilfred Guzman was at home when a familiar visit turned into a savage fight for survival. By the time police forced their way inside Apartment 16, they found blood in every room and signs that the attack had unfolded with whatever was within reach: kitchen knives, forks, spoons, even a small television. Detectives quickly pieced together what happened. What they couldn’t understand was how an ordinary late-night visit had turned so vicious. D4vd’s Defense Team Says Evidence Will Show D4vd Is NOT The Killer As CSAM Evidence Comes Out

Two songs come out around the time of D4vd’s recent arrest titled, ‘Imaginary Love’ and ’S*x.’ However, these songs aren’t released by D4vd, they’re released by an artist with the stage name Cara Kova.   Cara Kova is also known as Caleb Burke, David’s younger brother. And his second debut single, ’S*x,’ is released right after David is arrested and charged in the murder, dismemberment and SA of a 14 year old girl.   Netizens have mixed feelings. Some just criticize the timing and title of Caleb’s release. Some disagree. That Caleb was states away from David and shouldn’t be judge by the actions of his older brother.   But a few netizens believe everything in David’s case is just way too suspicious and even use forums to ask anyone associated with David if they were a potential accomplice in the killing of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.         Full show notes available at RottenMangoPodcast.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF: The Jamison Family

Bobby, Sherilynn, and 6-year-old Madyson Jamison went to the Sans Bois Mountains in southeastern Oklahoma in search of a fresh start. The family planned to live off the land in a remote, rugged area of Latimer County. But on Oct. 8, 2009, they vanished – leaving behind their truck with all their belongings inside. Their remains were found four years later, less than 3 miles from where the truck was abandoned. Now, more than a decade later, the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain a mystery. Was it a murder-suicide? Or did the family encounter someone dangerous that day? What really happened to the Jamison family?   If you have any information about what happened to the Jamison family, contact the Latimer County Sheriff’s Office at (918) 465-4013.   Head over to our Crime Junkie YouTube channel to WATCH this episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc6J1r8devQ You can learn more about The Good segment and even submit a story of your own by visiting The Good page on our website! The Matamoros Devil Murders (Part 2)

Visit https://www.markkilroyfoundation.org If you would like to donate to the Mark Kilroy Foundation. In March 1989, twenty-one-year-old University of Texas student Mark Kilroy and some friends traveled south of the border to Matamoros, Mexico to celebrate the end of spring break, along with thousands of other American students that year. After drinking all night at a bar on the night of March 10, Kilroy got separated from his friends when they decided to call it a night a little after 2:00 am. No one would see Mark Kilroy alive again. As one of several towns bordering the United States, Matamoros was popular with American tourists; however, by the late 1980s, it was beginning to develop a reputation for drug-related crime. In fact, Mark Kilroy was just one of sixty people who went missing in Matamoros in just the first three months of 1989 alone. When Kilroy’s friends reported him missing to the Brownsville, Texas police a massive search began, with investigators fearing Mark might have been kidnapped by one of the local gangs. It turned out, the truth was far worse than anyone had feared. MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Buy Tickets to MORBID LIVE at Radio City Music Hall on June 27th!
