Hosted by photographer, author, and former comedian David duChemin, A Beautiful Anarchy is a deeply human, honest, and insightful mostly-weekly kick in the pants for anyone who longs to create anything with soul and too often finds themselves mud-wrestling with the muse to do so. A Beautiful Anarchy is a candid ongoing exploration of what it means to be an everyday creator, whether you're a writer, photographer, sculptor, or a puppeteer who works exclusively with vintage macrame owls. The struggles and rewards of bringing something new into the world are universal, and you’re not alone. Let's talk about it.

A pep talk from my big brother

I just read a review that described your podcast as “mental acupuncture” and I couldn’t agree more. The pace, tone and length make me feel like I’m getting a gentle pep talk from the big brother who *actually* understands me. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting David before - and in those brief moments - I felt seen, encouraged and emboldened - to take leaps and make art. But also - to hear David speak so candidly about doubt, vulnerability and the imposter syndrome - is so very encouraging. I am not alone. Thank you

Inspirant!

Chaque épisode, d’une durée parfaite, nous force à réfléchir sur notre démarche artistique. J’écoute chaque épisode au moins deux fois pour bien cerner le thème et m’imprégner des conseils de David.

Et j’adore le mot de la fin!

Always enlightening and inspiring

I have been listening to David Ducharme for over 10 years now, maybe even more than that. I remember listening to his podcast “within the frame“ before it was even a book.
David is always thoughtful, inspiring and motivating. He doesn’t tell us what to do or how. He helps us explore why we want to do what we do. And in thinking and finding a little bit more about ourselves, in that process, we find a little more of that courage and that motivation we need so much to move forward.
Thank you, David, for sharing of yourself so incredibly generously.
