A Coffee with Miss Emily and Alison from Sweet Freeze!

Send us Fan Mail Join us for a coffee and chat with Miss Emily and her mother, Alison, from Sweet Freeze!  Born with an extremely rare genetic disorder, Miss Emily has spent her life defying the odds and becoming a source of joy for everyone she meets. An entrepreneur at heart, Emily is now launching her latest venture: a mobile ice cream shop called Sweet Freeze. This isn’t Emily’s first time in the entrepreneurial spotlight. Her previous business, Wags Cookies—inspired by the bond she shared with her service dog, Levi—reached incredible heights, even making it to the Grammys where celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber received her treats. Beyond her business success, Emily has been a powerful advocate for the community, appearing on the Larry King Show for World Autism Awareness Day to spread awareness about service dog access. Her appearance was so impactful that it led to a service dog being donated to another family in need. Now, Emily is hitting the streets with Sweet Freeze to bring treats and smiles to local neighborhoods. Using a custom-adapted three-wheel mobility trike wrapped in bright pink, she’ll be serving up ice cream and even specialized watermelon popsicles for dogs. Check out our Instagram to see photos of this amazing ice cream trike in action! Emily’s mission has always been to spread love, and her story is a beautiful testament to perseverance and passion. 2. A Coffee with Chef Adam Brack, Executive Chef at the DoubleTree and Home2 Suites by Hilton West Edmonton

A Coffee with Chef Adam Brack, Executive Chef at the DoubleTree and Home2 Suites by Hilton West Edmonton

Send us Fan Mail Join us for a coffee and chat with Chef Adam Brack, Executive Chef at the DoubleTree and Home2 Suites by Hilton West Edmonton! Originally from Peterborough, Ontario, Adam initially expected to follow in his father's footsteps into the trades, but his natural affinity for working with his hands eventually found a different outlet. His lifelong love of food was rooted in simple traditions, like the fish and chips he enjoyed every Friday growing up, but it wasn't until a high school Home Economics elective that he truly fell in love with the craft. To this day, Adam still keeps the first recipe he ever wrote framed in his home as a reminder of where it all began. Adam honed his skills at the prestigious Stratford Chefs School, where he went through a rigorous hands-on program. His first year was spent learning every facet of the industry, from washing dishes and prep work to acting as a sommelier while cooking for the school's restaurant. By his second year, the program transitioned into a residency format where students acted as chefs in residence. This allowed them the opportunity to take the lead in the kitchen, giving them the creative freedom to design their own menus and significantly expand their professional cooking abilities.  While Adam originally intended to avoid large chain restaurants, a unique opportunity at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge changed his perspective. Having never been to Alberta before, he spent three months working at JPL between his school years and immediately returned to the Rockies upon graduation. Since then, Adam has worked at various renowned kitchens throughout Alberta, leading him to his current role at the DoubleTree.  His story is one of craftsmanship and passion, and after hearing it, you will definitely want to stop by for a meal. 3. A Coffee with Doug Lang!

    A Coffee with Doug Lang!

Send us Fan Mail Join us for a coffee and chat with Doug Lang as he shares a life story that feels like it belongs on the silver screen. Originally from Winnipeg, Doug bypassed a career in his father’s insurance firm to pursue his own passions, first earning a pilot’s license in Vancouver before finding his true calling in policing at age 24. His diverse career on the force spanned from the motor core and detective division to serving as the department’s media spokesperson and working in the vice department, where he spent months filming a documentary on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Beyond the badge, Doug’s personal life is defined by a cinematic romance with his wife, Georgialee. After meeting at an Italian restaurant and sharing a legendary first date night-skiing, the two lost touch for several years. Their paths eventually crossed again through some intentional police work; having kept tabs on her, Doug pulled Georgialee over on purpose while she was driving to go skiing to reignite their connection.  The couple also had to navigate a unique professional overlap early in their marriage, as Doug was arresting individuals while Georgialee was working to get them out of jail. This led to a career transition for Georgialee into family law, while Doug has spent his retirement fueling his lifelong love for machinery by collecting cars and motorcycles.  This episode offers a fascinating look at the complexities of police life, the power of a second-chance romance, and the importance of following your own path. To hear the other side of this incredible tale, be sure to listen to Georgialee’s episode for the full story of how they found their way back to one another. 4. A Coffee with Terry Evans: Local Broadcasting Legend!

A Coffee with Terry Evans: Local Broadcasting Legend!

Send us Fan Mail Join us for a coffee and chat with Terry Evans, Local Broadcasting Legend!  Terry Evans' career started in BC at the age of 15, working the 6–11 PM night shift at a local station. While attending the Radio Arts program in Lethbridge, his talent was so immediate that he was hired by a local station just three weeks into his first semester—eventually leaving school to pursue radio full-time. In 1986, Terry arrived in Edmonton and joined K-97, beginning a legendary 40-year tenure that started with the "graveyard shift" from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Throughout his career, Terry has seen it all—from the evolution of the station's locations to interviewing rock royalty like Eddie Van Halen and David Bowie. Terry’s impact extends far beyond the airwaves. When changes in liquor laws threatened to bar underage musicians from performing in venues, Terry stepped up. He was a key figure in the effort to change those rulings, ensuring young artists could get the live exposure they needed to grow. As a father of a musician and a firm believer in the power of school band programs, Terry continues to advocate for the next generation of talent. Though he "retired" from radio, Terry is busier than ever. He has traded the broadcast tower for the podcast studio, launching several successful series covering everything from music and whiskey to travel and investment. Whether he’s Emceeing a major event or producing high-fidelity voiceovers, Terry remains a vital voice in the community. Don’t miss this story of resilience, rock & roll, and a lifelong commitment to the spotlight. 5. A Coffee with Joline Lemke of Lily Grey Artistry!

    MAR 19

A Coffee with Joline Lemke of Lily Grey Artistry!

Send us Fan Mail Join us for a coffee and chat with Joline Lemke of Lily Grey Artistry!  From her early dreams of creating Super Bowl commercials to earning a business degree at the University of Alberta, Joline’s career path has been a masterclass in the professional pivot. After honing her craft as a receptionist for Evelyn Charles and later spending four years at MAC Cosmetics, she took a leap of faith to launch her own artistry company. Her business background and creative eye quickly made her a sought-after name for high-profile projects, including working with NHL star Connor McDavid for a RE/MAX commercial and providing makeup for Premier Danielle Smith during major televised events and conferences. Joline’s artistry is defined by her incredible resilience and adaptability. When the pandemic threw a wrench in a film production she was working on, she didn't just pack up her brushes; she stepped in to act as well as provide the makeup. She navigated the post-lockdown boom of three weddings a weekend. Today, her work spans bridal, branding, and specialized lessons for the 35–45 demographic, where she focuses on how to evolve your routine as your skin changes. At the heart of Joline’s philosophy is the belief that makeup should empower and put a "pep in your step" rather than overwhelm you. She advocates for a streamlined collection of key products, emphasizing that the brand—whether drugstore or high-end—matters less than the technique. She also keeps it simple for the men, insisting on a minimum of moisturizer and sunscreen. Now, Joline is bringing her career full circle by launching Social Sidekick Co. to help other business owners master their social media presence with the same confidence she brings to the makeup chair. Pet Peeves Part 3: Let's Talk Shrinkflation!

Send us Fan Mail Join Jennifer and Cam for the third installment of the Pet Peeves series as they tackle the frustrating reality of Shrinkflation. It is the trend nobody asked for: prices continue to climb while portions get smaller by the day. They discuss the items that used to offer value deals but now break the budget, from eight-dollar chocolate chips that barely fill a cup and a half to six-dollar bags of Cheese Pleasers. The conversation dives into the new warning labels on food and the confusing world of portion sizes. Jennifer and Cam examine why eating healthy has become significantly more expensive than buying junk food, even though both categories feel overpriced lately. They weigh the pros and cons of gardening versus grocery shopping to save money and compare the rising costs of fresh versus frozen fruit. From holiday candies like Mini Eggs—now priced at two dollars and fifty cents for a tiny pack—to the hidden gems found at the dollar store for food and household essentials, the duo looks for ways to fight back against rising costs. Plus, Cam shares his secret recipe for making the ultimate bowl of Kraft Dinner. Tune in to join the rant, pick up some savvy shopping tips, and try out Cam’s KD hack.
