This is a great podcast especially if you are familiar with Alice Morrison and her amazing life. If you are not familiar with her, you are in for a treat, and I encourage you to also explore her adventures by way of the wonderful photographs and blogs she has set up and OF COURSE, by listening to this podcast! It’s easy listening and always entertaining and informative (fun info!). Alice is a very affirmative person, so interested in the people and cultures around her that those cultures seem to readily open up and welcome her in. Alice is Scottish by birth, but her early years were spent in Africa, then the family returned to the UK. She was not always an adventurer and travel communicator but decided to alter her career course significantly, leaving a high-pressured media(?) job when feeling somewhat changed by a number of factors, including time on the bicycle Tour d’Afrique, (the full N-S length of Africa!). Her memoir of her Tour, detailed in a book called “Dodging Elephants”, was my first introduction to Alice and I highly recommend it. After that read I was always looking out for other news on her. And she has been busy. Moving to live in Imlil, Morocco, she has used many means to chronicle her daily life there and numerous adventures big and small. I am delighted to be able to follow her via this great podcast, ‘Alice in Wanderland’ and have been having fun catching up. Love the stories!
NOTE: Alice has made time to write more marvellous books about her time and travel some of which have gone on to become best-sellers,(!!) and put her on several interesting lecture circuits. Congratulations Alice!! So….. Read her books! Explore her blog and pictures! But above all…. Listen to the podcast! And *****!!!!!
