Always Be Chasing Your Great Valley

Always Be Chasing Your Great Valley

On this fond farewell to Bad Dad Rad Dad (before becoming Moody Movie Club) Kylie and Elliott talk about the movies they watched this week and share the cinematic dads they found. Along the way, they reminisce about celebratory film recommendations, find a new drag name, crush over a crumpled little boyfriend, and consider the abject in an impressively mucky horror rewatch. Happy Pride! Godzilla is the raddest dad of all in the sweetest queer short film: Coming Out.
This week’s movies are: The Host (2007), The Land Before Time (1988), La Chimera (2023), and Titane (2021).
Watch the cutest sad video ever: Dinosaurs In Love

Jason Lee Is Doing Kickflips In Our Hearts

Welcome to Bad Dad Rad Dad, where Kylie and Elliott talk about the movies they watch each week while searching for better cinematic dads. This week’s movies are: Mallrats (1995), Night of the Living Dead (1990), Evil Does Not Exist (2023), Minari (2021), and Speed Racer (2008).

The Rad Wrap: Planet of the Apes

The Rad Wrap: Planet of the Apes

Welcome to The Rad Wrap: a series on series, where Kylie and Elliott explore films with a common thread. In this episode, they cover a series that is important to them (and that they feel more people should love!). Along the way, they gush about one of their favourite cinema moments, know that good people can do bad things, raise up one of their favourite cinematic characters of all time (despite the bleak journey), and wonder if every movie should just be a five out of five.
The films are: Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024).

Welcome to Bad Dad Rad Dad, where Kylie and Elliott talk about the movies they watch each week while searching for better cinematic dads. This week’s movies are: Drylongso (1998), Aliens (1986), Chasing Amy (1997), and Chasing Chasing Amy (2023).

Daddy Deep Dive: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Welcome back to Daddy Deep Dive: a spoiler-filled unpacking of the most special films. This time, Kylie and Elliott revisit one of the most formative films in their personal cinematic journeys: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl. Along the way, they discuss when a movie becomes your whole identity, having grace for still loving the things we now feel complicated about, the inherent gender fuckery of the franchise, and how to mutiny your bad dads.

So much to love

First, love the dead dad talk. I can’t get enough. Also, this podcast is great for film recs, reigniting a maybe forgotten love of movies, and encouraging thoughtful viewing. I really have been enjoying listening.
