I’ve enjoyed every episode of this podcast, and, as a feminist, I deeply empathize with the struggle! And as a queer woman, with an amazing lesbian daughter, this discourse is so many of the things I actually believe worthy of discussion. I simply must mention the Wuornos episode, so respectfully done, and full of truth rather than the usual “truthiness”, touching and informative. Also, Roger Casement was someone I had never heard of but because of that amazing presentation, I will never forget. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve squirmed, I’ve literally raised my fist! Simply so well done!
So good.

This is one of my favourite podcasts. I so appreciate the attention to detail and the attention paid to social and historical context especially in episodes about non-western/non-white people from history. It doesn’t fall into the annoying shallow performative tropes that way too many queer-centred storytellers fall into, it’s constructive, precise, and disruptive to the idea that past places were queer utopias and that all kinds of discrimination are western constructs.
love this show!

the NUANCE is so GOOD! i really appreciate historians’ researched takes on the many bad gays of history. it’s important that we remember ALL of those who came before us.
Boring uni lectures

Do you miss the days of falling asleep in your uni lectures because the prof coldly reads off a script that sounds dryer than an academic paper? This podcast is for you. Most of the star ranking here is for potential not execution.
