    Ep. #360: June 22-28, 1986 with Robert O'Connor

Kris & David are back this week with another episode of BTS, going back to the 80's with Robert O'Connor (@ghostofquinones) making his return to discuss the week that was June 22-28, 1986.
We start in the WWF, where we talk about George Scott being removed as the head booker as well as who his replacements were rumored to be at that time, which may surprise you. We also talk about Paul Orndorff's heel turn percolating on TV, the original plans for Harley Race's gimmick, and much more. Then, after a very short International section, we return to the U.S. territory scene, where we talk about an amazing money mark story, a segment with David Crockett & America's Team that made Dave Meltzer want to vomit, the greatness of Brad Armstrong in Continental, Bam Bam Bigelow running wild on Memphis TV, Bill Watts & The Freebirds get heated up in the UWF, and so much more.We then close with the AWA in a rarity for us, but they had a big week, as they did a LIVE show on ESPN, Battle by the Bay, that Dave Meltzer attended in person, so we have his live rundown as well as our thoughts, especially O'Connor’s, and we talk about all sorts of other AWA stuff, as well.Just another classic O'Connor show, with an ending that you MUST listen to…

    Ep. #359: June 15-21, 2005

    Ep. #359: June 15-21, 2005

Kris & David are back with another Patronr-requested episode of BTS this week, as we discuss the week that was June 15-21, 2005.
We start off with Ring of Honor, where the "Summer of Punk" began with CM Punk shockingly winning the ROH World Heavyweight Title from Austin Aries in what was thought to be his last match before reporting to WWE developmental. Instead, it was the beginning of one of the biggest angles in ROH history. We also go over the rest of the show from Morristown, New Jersey, which also featured the returns of Christopher Daniels, A.J. Styles, & Petey Williams for the first time since TNA pulled their talent a year earlier, and lots more.Speaking of TNA, we then head over there to talk about Slammiversary, plus drama regarding Dusty Rhodes & Jeff Jarrett, not to mention the company negotiating potential TV deals with networks like WGN. As usual, this was quite the entertaining TNA section.Next, we go International, talking a busy week in Japan, especially New Japan, as the Best of the Super Juniors tour came to an end, plus Intocable being seriously injured at an AAA show in Mexico, and a major show at Arena Mexico which saw someone lose their hair after a big multi-man cage match. We go back to the U.S. for a packed indie section, with lots of shows in the Philly area and a major scare at an AWS show in Southern California, plus Jim Cornette returns to Ohio Valley Wrestling from his WWE-imposed suspension…but not for long.We then close with the WWE for a wild week of television featuring Edge & Lita's wedding on Monday Night Raw and so much more wackiness, including THE ANGELIC DIABLO and Melina making Heidenreich sad.2000s shows are always packed, and this one is no different, so listen now and enjoy!!!!

Ep. #358: June 9-14, 1991 with Dave Prazak

Ep. #358: June 9-14, 1991 with Dave Prazak

Kris & David are joined by Dave Prazak (@DavePrazak) for a Patron-requested show (you can get your own show by going to our Patreon page and following the protocol) to discuss the almost-week that was June 9th-14th, 1991.
We start off with the infamous UWF BEACH BRAWL pay-per-view event promoted by Herb Abrams and what a doozy this was. We talk about everything that went wrong both in the ring and out of it; although it's full of wackiness, the in-ring wrestling wasn't nearly as bad as you would've expected. We then go to the WWF, where we talk about the upcoming George Zahorian trial and how that could affect the company as the year went on, as well as TV ratings, house shows, and a WWF CEREAL in the works. On the international scene, we start in Japan, where we talk about a big WWF star wanting to work for All Japan, New Japan running a big show at Budokan Hall, SWS & the WWF running joint shows, and more before going to Mexico, where we discuss Konnan becoming the first ever CMLL World Heavyweight Champion as well as other news and results.Next up is the U.S. indie scene, which is extremely light since we didn't have a Saturday in our week, but we talk about Eric Embry's failure as a booker when it comes to business, Joe Pedicino's GWF being days away from officially landing a TV deal with ESPN, and The National Sports Daily going out of business.WCW closes the show, with the focus being Clash of the Champions XV: Knocksville, USA, where we go over the entire, infamously overstuffed show. We basically rebook the whole thing to keep it from being a complete mess, plus we have cameos from Jason Hervey as well as Pepa & Spinderella from Salt-N-Pepa, to boot. All that and much more in a classic "WCW, everybody!” section that you can't miss.Tremendous show as always with Prazak sitting in with us, so LISTEN NOW!!!!!!!

We also go over Thunder and the usual mass confusion that it caused in 2000. Among other topics in this section, we also talk about the planned Fight Club/Knockout Club stable and inquiries made into bringing Dennis Rodman back.Japan is next, where we talk about PRIDE shooting a big angle involving Tokimitsu Ishizawa (Kendo Ka Shin), AJPW in the final days before the split, NJPW during the Best of the Super Junior tour, CZW dominating Big Japan, a major Toryumon show, and a lot more.We then go to Mexico, where we talk about the AAA wrestlers invading Arena Mexico to set up the big Padrissimo show was coming soon, as well as other stuff from Mexico & Puerto Rico.ECW is up next, and what a section this is, as we go over a wild week in the life of Paul Heyman, featuring a major talent meeting, The Sandman acting like a complete moron, and a lot more. Then we go to the indies where the main story is what could've been a possible tragedy on the live Power Pro TV show in Memphis, and a lot more.We close with the WWF, where there is a shakeup in the power structure that would be huge as the year goes on, Raw & Smackdown being all over the place with lots of wackiness while still drawing major ratings, and a lot more. This show was a blast, so you’d better not miss it!!
