Ben, I love what you’ve done with this show. I’ve listened for almost four years at this point. I frequently go back and listen to favourite episodes over and over.
However, I feel like the AI songs/intermissions take away from the atmosphere you and the guest cultivate. I could go on a whole rant about why creating AI music for a show that celebrates human creativity and writing is wrong, but you’re clearly a smart,
thoughtful man that can see where that thread goes.
I understand recording yourself reading out bits/funny ads/intermissions is a lot of extra work for something that already takes so much effort. But perhaps the solution here isn’t an AI product that fills a gap the sake of filling it. I’m more than okay with a brief pause with silence, or even a slightly awkward cut! Anything that would maintain the organic, human feel of the conversation.
