Have been an avid listener/lurker since the PBCC story dropped. The Political Dark Arts YouTube podcast that pairs with this show was something I was also interested in. The twists and turns and recurring characters and constant surprises - I was quite intrigued by it all.
But lately - I am confused, as the title indicates.
DW and JDF are utterly mystifying lately. WOKE, COMMUNIST, UNIONS, TEACHERS, NENSHI, COUPS and so many other bugaboos and bitter enemies seem to be targets, whilst the premier of a certain province, and their govt’s sheer incompetence and lack of anything resembling leadership, empathy, or common sense gets wrapped up like garbage in fancy paper and put under the Christmas Tree like it is an actual gift.
I am utterly astonished by this turn of events.
I keep wondering so many things- like whose interests are being served by this incoherent (but still highly entertaining) narrative?
There are historical and legitimate grievances that are bandied about- and then there is the WTH IS GOING ON feeling I have entered into in the last nine months or so.
If someone could explain how DW can afford to throw around oodles of money to get tips, when mere months ago it seems he was living in a tent, that would be fabulous, too.
I get that that it seems like everyone and their dog in this unnamed province seems to be compromised or dickish in some way, and nobody is particularly able to be trusted- but what the heck is happening?
Nenshi went from being incorruptible by foreign interests, to a misshapen guy with no moral compass over the last few years, if you take the word of these two men as elucidating in ANY way. The federal Liberals are now - well- I just don’t even know what is going on after them being characterized previously as not as bad as the con apparatus to whatever has happened in the last six or so months.
I am still going to listen. I have no skin in any of the games set forth in any of this, but am just an extremely befuddled listener wondering if this show, and the Political Dark Arts one, are now just going to be the podcast versions of old men yelling at clouds.
Which- in and of itself - can be interesting, but maybe not in the way they may have hoped they might have meant to entertain listeners.
Anywhoooo- WTAF is going on?
Seriously.
Make it make sense.
So far all that has happened is that the water is so muddy that it is obscuring anything from actually being seen, if in fact anything is worth being seen.
