I Just Want To Quit, But I Don’t Want To Be A Quitter

You’re ready to throw in the towel, but you feel torn. You think, “I want to quit” but that seems terrible. What does that say about you if you just walk away? Torturous thoughts creep in like leaving is a huge sign of weakness. Or that you don’t have what it takes to stick with something. But what if that urge to walk away isn’t a weakness at all? What if it’s your inner wisdom trying to get your attention? Quitter Is the Wrong Label Labeling yourself a quitter might not be valid. Sometimes a situation simply isn’t a good fit, or the timing is off. The opportunity might not be for your highest good, and perhaps something better is waiting once you become available. But how do you know the difference? Here’s the honest answer – it depends. No blanket statement works for every situation. This is a place where trusting yourself and your inner knowing is essential. Think about if you’re the kind of person who is always chasing the newest thing, abandoning what you’re working on for the latest shiny object. That might be a sign to hang in a bit longer and give what you’re doing a fair shake. On the other hand, maybe you’re the type who holds on longer than makes sense because of security, loyalty, or a sense of duty. Perhaps you have fear about letting go. You have plenty of stick-to-itiveness, maybe too much for your own good. Sticking with something and seeing it through does build a sense of certainty that you gave it a fair shot. It can develop strength and follow-through. Yet, sometimes you need to leave because a better opportunity is waiting. It could be one you’ll miss if you stay too long in a place that isn’t right for you. Questions Worth Asking Before making the call to stay or go, take time to reflect and ask yourself: Have I really given this my all? Do I want to quit because I’m bored? Do I want to leave because I fear it won’t work out? Am I recognizing a pattern that’s worth examining? Did I just lose steam on this idea? Am I hitting my head against a wall and need to walk away? Am I being stubborn and hanging in there because I don’t know what else to do? Is this situation eroding my self-confidence and making me feel smaller? Your answers will tell you a great deal. And when you’ve tried everything, talked to experts, friends, family, and adjusted your approach, but things still aren’t moving forward, that’s important information. It can be a sign that what you’re working on is out of alignment with your highest good, no matter how much you want it to work. This could apply to a job, a business idea, a relationship, a course, or even a habit you’ve been trying to build. When your gut is telling you clearly and consistently that something isn’t working, it’s worth listening. Real-Life Examples of Conscious Quitting The Landmark Seminar Years ago, I completed the EST training, now called Landmark, a two-weekend personal development workshop. Afterward, I joined an 8–10 week seminar with my cousin to continue the work. Each week we’d gather to collaborate on a long-term group project. The problem? A lot of people stopped showing up. And instead of focusing on the work, the group leaders spent most of every 90-minute meeting scolding the people who were there about the people who weren’t. The leadership had taken their eyes off the ball, and nothing was getting accomplished. By the sixth week, my intuition was screaming at me to stop wasting my time. So, I left. The following week, members of the group called me a quitter. My cousin defended me and then quit herself since it all seemed ridiculous. Was I a quitter? No. I left because the group hadn’t kept its commitment to the participants. Leaving was the right call. Two Decades of Coaching I’ve tried a variety of coaching niches over the years, from dating coaching, marketing coaching, life coaching, and the most recent – intuitive coaching. I stuck with dating coaching the longest, over 20 years, with genuine success and many positive milestones. But with the other niches, my inner knowing consistently nudged me to move on when nothing was clicking. It would show up as a pit in my stomach, or an intuitive sense that things weren’t headed in the right direction. Most of those ideas simply didn’t fly, so I dropped them. Does that make me a quitter? Or does that make me a smart businesswoman who chose to cut her losses and try something new? I’d argue it’s the latter every time. How to Trust Your Inner Wisdom The only reliable way to navigate the stay-or-go question is to look within. Beyond the reflection questions suggested above, you can also try sitting quietly for a few minutes of stillness and ask yourself sincerely “Is it for my highest good to stay with this situation?” Then really listen and pay attention to what comes to you. Some answers arrive as a clear sense of knowing. Others show up as a feeling in your body, such as tension, relief, heaviness, or lightness. Over time, you’ll learn to recognize the signals that are uniquely yours. Your intuition won’t lead you astray. The more you practice listening to it, the more trustworthy it becomes. Taking care of yourself, setting boundaries and knowing what is right and not right for you, that my friend is something to feel very proud of. Quitting after making a conscious choice is an empowering step. And, relying on your intuition and trusting your inner wisdom make a huge difference in the way you live your life. That’s what makes you a wise woman. Key Takeaways Leaving isn’t the same as quitting. When a decision to walk away is conscious and well-considered, it’s an act of self-awareness, not weakness. Know your patterns. If you tend to abandon things quickly, stay a little longer. If you tend to hold on past the point of reason, give yourself permission to let go. Ask the hard questions first. Reflect before deciding, make sure you’ve genuinely tried, not just gone through the motions. Your body knows. Persistent gut feelings, dread, and a sense of stagnation are important and valid data points. Quitting what doesn’t fit creates space for what does. Walking away from the wrong thing is often what makes room for the right thing. Frequently Asked Questions How do I know if I’m quitting too soon or holding on too long? It usually comes down to your natural tendencies. If you’re someone who chases novelty, lean toward staying longer. If you’re someone who honors commitment to a fault, give yourself more permission to leave. The reflection questions listed above are a good starting point for sorting this out. Isn’t quitting a sign of failure? Not when it’s a deliberate, thoughtful decision. Failing and quitting are different things. Failure is a result; quitting, done consciously is a choice. Many highly successful people have walked away from things that weren’t working in order to redirect their energy toward what was. What if other people judge me for leaving? They might. In the Landmark example above, group members considered me a quitter. But other people’s judgments don’t make them right. You are the one living your life. You have the fullest picture of your situation, your needs, and what is right you. Can quitting actually be good for my well-being? Absolutely. Staying in situations that are fundamentally wrong for you out of guilt, fear, or stubbornness takes a real toll. Releasing what isn’t working reduces stress, preserves your energy, and often opens the door to something better. How do I stop feeling ashamed about a decision to leave? Reframe it. Walking away from what isn’t right for you isn’t something to be ashamed of. Instead, it’s something to feel proud of. It means you know yourself, you’re setting boundaries, and you’re taking care of your own well-being. That’s not weakness, that’s wisdom. If Life Feels Difficult Lately, Blame May’s Astrology & Super Moon

Have you been looking at your life lately wondering why things feel off or out of sorts? Blame it on May’s astrology. Thankfully, things are basically fine on the surface. Yet underneath, there’s a strange feeling that’s subtle and even a little disconnected. May’s Astrology The things you used to rely on don’t feel the same anymore. Your routines and even your goals feel a bit out of sync. It’s as if parts of your life belong to a version of you that isn’t working anymore. You’re probably feeling some restlessness that comes and goes. There may be moments where you feel emotional without a clear reason. And, times when your energy dips, your focus drifts, or you catch yourself questioning decisions you once made easily. Underneath all of it, something is trying to get your attention. What you’re feeling right now makes sense when you consider this month’s astrology.  It’s creating a very specific kind of internal movement. It’s subtle in some ways and intense in others, especially for midlife women already on a path of self-awareness and growth. This month is inviting you into a deeper relationship with yourself. If you’ve been feeling off, it may be because parts of you are shifting before your outer life has had a chance to catch up. Pluto Retrograde Brings Transformation A big part of May’s astrology begins with Pluto Retrograde. Pluto governs transformation, truth, power, and the subconscious. When Pluto moves into retrograde, its energy turns inward. Instead of external change, the focus becomes looking within. You may notice old patterns resurfacing. This might look like emotional reactions, thoughts, or relationship dynamics you believed you had already worked through. There can be moments where something small triggers a much deeper emotional response than expected. These old patterns are resurfacing to get your attention one more time. It’s like peeling another layer of the onion, revealing something deeper that’s ready to be released. For women in midlife who have already done a lot of inner work, this can feel confusing. You may wonder why this is happening again. What’s actually happening is refinement. Pluto is drawing your awareness toward deeper layers beneath what you’ve already healed. It’s showing you where your power still gets diluted, where you override your truth, or where old identities are lingering just enough to keep you out of alignment. You may especially notice this in relationships. Situations where you feel drained, obligated, or subtly resentful begin standing out more clearly. You may recognize where you say yes when your body wants to say no, or where you stay silent to keep the peace. These realizations may not arrive gently, but they are important and clarifying. The Taurus Super Moon Amplifies Everything At the same time, the Super Full Moon in Taurus is magnifying emotional awareness. Taurus is connected to stability, security, self-worth, comfort, and the physical experience of being alive. When the Moon is full in Taurus, these themes become more vivid and emotionally present. You may find yourself craving simplicity and wanting to slow down. You could wish your life felt more supportive, nourishing, and aligned with what actually matters to you now. At the same time, anything that isn’t aligned in those areas can feel much harder to tolerate. Your body is giving you information. There’s increased sensitivity to what supports you versus what drains you. Certain parts of life may no longer feel sustainable. For many women in midlife, this connects to a deeper question about security. What felt secure ten or twenty years ago may not hold the same meaning anymore. Your sense of security may be shifting from external validation toward trusting your own inner knowing. Mercury in Gemini Speeds Up Your Mind The next astrological layer involves Mercury in Gemini. Mercury governs communication, thinking, and perception. Gemini is mentally active, curious, and constantly moving between ideas. When Mercury enters Gemini, the mind speeds up. It can feel like the Universe suddenly turns the volume up on thoughts, conversations, signs, and inner messages. There may be moments of clarity followed by frustrating overthinking. You might feel pulled in multiple directions mentally, trying to understand what you’re feeling while also questioning it at the same time. This is where intuition often gets drowned out. Intuition tends to arrive as a whisper, first impression, or subtle knowing. Then the mind steps in to analyze, reinterpret, question, and dismiss it. By the time you’ve thought everything through, the original clarity can feel diluted. That’s why this month asks you to notice an important pattern. Are you honoring your intuition, or questioning it instead of trusting it? Mercury in Gemini brings brilliance, but it also creates mental clutter. Part of your work this month is learning how to hear yourself clearly beneath all the inner chatter. Why Life Feels Misaligned Right Now When you combine Pluto’s inner transformation, the Taurus Moon’s emotional clarity, and Mercury’s mental activity, a bigger picture begins to emerge. There may be a growing misalignment between your inner truth and the life structures you’ve relied on for years. Once you see that misalignment, it becomes difficult to ignore. Parts of you are evolving. Your needs are changing and your awareness is expanding. Yet some areas of your life haven’t adjusted to meet who you are becoming. That’s where the feeling of “this isn’t working anymore” comes from. Thankfully, nothing is going wrong with you. It’s about becoming more attuned to your true self. Part of you is ready for a different way of living, choosing, and being. Another part still wants the familiarity of old roles, expectations, and patterns. That internal tension can feel confusing, exhausting, or emotionally draining. But there is clarity underneath it. Your Inner Wisdom Is Speaking The good news is your intuition hasn’t gone anywhere. It’s always been there all along, offering guidance and waiting for you to listen. Your inner wisdom often speaks through your body first. You may notice heaviness after certain conversations or lightness after making an honest decision. You may feel drawn toward something that doesn’t fully make logical sense yet. This shift doesn’t require a massive overhaul. It simply asks you to notice more and pay attention to what’s happening beneath the surface. This month holds the energy of listening to yourself more than rushing into action. You don’t have to solve everything immediately or reinvent your entire life overnight. You only need to start noticing what feels aligned and what doesn’t. Simple practices can help support this shift, like slowing down, walking, journaling, stretching, or taking a few quiet moments to check in with yourself before reacting automatically. In midlife, something within you is asking for a more honest relationship with yourself. A deeper trust. A way of living that reflects who you are now instead of who you used to be. If your life feels different lately, it may mean you’re finally becoming honest about what no longer fits or works and shifting into a period of greater alignment. And that’s a good thing. Key Takeaways May’s astrology is creating strong inner shifts and emotional awareness. Pluto retrograde is bringing old patterns and power dynamics to the surface. The Taurus Full Moon increases sensitivity around stability, self-worth, and sustainability. Mercury in Gemini can heighten intuition while also increasing overthinking. Feelings of misalignment may reflect growth rather than failure. This month supports reflection, self-trust, and listening to your inner guidance instead of rushing forward. FAQs Why does everything feel emotionally heavier lately? May’s astrology is amplifying emotional awareness and highlighting areas of life that no longer feel aligned or sustainable. What does Pluto retrograde do emotionally? Pluto retrograde brings old emotional patterns and subconscious dynamics back into awareness, so deeper healing and refinement can occur. Why am I overthinking so much right now? Mercury in Gemini speeds up mental activity, making it easier to second-guess yourself and harder to hear your intuition clearly. Is this a sign something is wrong with my life? Not necessarily. This astrology may be helping you recognize where your outer life no longer matches your inner truth. What should I focus on this month? Focus on listening to your inner knowing, paying attention to your energy, and noticing what feels supportive, honest, and aligned with who you are right now. Secrets Of Glamour Magic Revealed

What is glamour magic? It’s the practice of consciously working with your own presence, so your most aligned, authentic self comes forward more clearly and consistently. Rooted in Celtic folklore, the Fae were said to cast glamours to alter perception. However, the modern glamour practice I’m going to talk about is not about illusion. This is about being intentional to create alignment between who you are and how you show up in the world. What Is Glamour Magic? The word glamour carries a shimmer to it, something just beneath the surface of ordinary life. Most people think of glamour as external like fashion, beauty, high-end jewelry, or personal presentation. But there’s something deeper here, something far more useful in your real life. Traced back through Celtic folklore, glamour was considered a kind of enchantment. The Fae could cast a glamour to alter perception itself, making something appear more beautiful, powerful, or entirely different than it truly was. It was a kind of energetic artistry that could bend reality with a bit of illusion. Modern glamour practice reclaims that concept, but instead of using it as a pretense, it’s being used here to promote alignment. Think about choosing how you want to show up to match who you are becoming, so your presence is felt more clearly, more consistently, and with far less effort. How to Practice Glamour Magic Glamour practice is built through small, intentional acts that shift both your inner and outer world over time. Here are seven practical methods that you can try. Know that you do not have to do them all. Just choose what appeals most. 1. Use Your Voice Intentionally Why it matters: Your voice and language set the tone for your entire day before anything else happens. Most people use language unconsciously — hedging, softening, second-guessing. But language carries energy. When you choose your words with intention, you shift your internal state, which changes how you feel and how others experience you. How to do it: Replace “I hope” with “I’m choosing” Replace “I’ll try” with “I will” Pause before automatic apologies and decide if they’re actually needed Speak a 20-second identity statement in the mirror each morning. “I move through today with calm confidence. My presence is steady. My words are clear, and people feel that.” When you say this out loud, you’re not wishing. You’re practicing. Your voice becomes a bridge between who you are and who you’re becoming. 2. Consciously Choose Your Scent Why it matters: Scent connects directly to memory, emotion, and mood. It can shift how you feel almost instantly. Instead of choosing a fragrance randomly, assign meaning to what you wear. You might have one scent for confidence, one for calm, one for openness. How to do it: In the morning, decide what energy you want to embody As you apply your scent, breathe it in and set a simple intention: “I carry grounded confidence today” or “I’m stepping into ease and grace” With time, your body associates the scent with that state of being. Wearing it becomes a shortcut to that energy 3. Hold Your Gaze in the Mirror Why it matters: Most people rush past the mirror or avoid their own gaze. Staying there — even briefly — is an act of self-connection that builds inner authority. How to do it: Stand at the mirror and hold eye contact with yourself for 30 to 60 seconds Relax your face, drop your shoulders, and simply be present Say something simple out loud: “I trust myself” or “I am becoming more grounded and at ease” This is where glamour turns inward. You’re not projecting — you’re reinforcing identity. You’ll begin to see yourself differently, and that changes how you move through the world. 4. Create an Anchor Object Why it matters: A physical object worn daily can become a powerful cue for the energy you want to embody. How to do it: Choose something you already wear — a ring, bracelet, or watch Hold it and intentionally connect it with a quality: steadiness, confidence, clarity Say that quality out loud, then wear it as normal Throughout the day, when you touch it, pause and reconnect with that feeling This association strengthens as time passes. It provides a steady support, like a personal talisman but not for luck. It’s for alignment. 5. Use Music to Up Your Vibe Why it matters: Music has a direct and immediate effect on emotional state. One song can shift your mood in seconds. How to do it: As you get ready each morning, play something that matches or elevates how you want to feel Let your body respond, and know that even just a little movement counts This goes beyond listening to embodying a frequency and choosing your state of being rather than waiting for it to arrive 6. Choose Your Daily Story Why it matters: Most people move through life reacting. But underneath every day, there’s a narrative running — and often, it isn’t a kind one. How to do it: Each morning, ask: what kind of day do I want to have, and who do I want to be within it? Choose an energy to hold: confidence, ease, openness, creativity When something unexpected happens, ask: how does the woman I’m becoming move through this? This is where glamour really lives, in your ability to consciously choose your experience and then fully participate in it. 7. How to End of the Day Why it matters: Clearing your energy at the end of the day is just as important as how you begin. Even on a good day, you absorb energy from other people, conversations, and environments. Without releasing it, you carry it forward. How to do it: Wash your hands, step into the shower, or simply pause before bed Imagine the day rinsing away — anything heavy, anything that isn’t yours Say: “My day is complete. I release what I don’t need. I return to myself.” You can also use a smudge stick or palo santo wood to clear your energy Or try an essential oil like Tea Tree or a blend like Purify by doTerra Key Takeaways Glamour magic is about alignment, not illusion. It’s the practice of bringing your most authentic self forward through intentional daily habits. Your voice is your first tool. Language and tone shape your internal state before the day has even begun. Small rituals create lasting shifts. Scent, mirror work, anchor objects, and music are all practical tools for shaping how you feel and how others experience you. Your inner narrative matters most. Consciously choosing the story you tell yourself is the foundation of sustained presence. Close the day with intention. Releasing the energy you’ve accumulated is part of the practice, not optional. Frequently Asked Questions Is glamour magic a form of spiritual practice? It can be, but it doesn’t have to be. This approach is grounded in practical psychology and intentional habit-building. The folklore roots give it context, but the methods work regardless of your spiritual beliefs. How long does it take to see results? Many people notice a shift in their internal state within days. The external changes, like how others perceive and respond to you, typically emerge over several weeks of consistent practice. Do I need any special tools or products? No. Everything described here uses what you already have, such as your voice, your morning routine, a piece of jewelry, and music you enjoy. Intention is the only required ingredient. Can anyone practice glamour magic? Yes. This practice isn’t tied to a particular personality type, aesthetic, or lifestyle. It scales to wherever you are and whatever your day looks like. What if I miss a day? No big deal! You simply begin again. Glamour practice isn’t about perfection, but awareness and intention. Every moment offers an opportunity to reconnect with the energy you want to embody. The post Secrets Of Glamour Magic Revealed appeared first on Intuitive Edge.

Where’s the F*ing Magic in That?

Not every magical moment feels good, but you can always find magic in it. Some of the most powerful lessons and course corrections in life show up disguised as disappointments, embarrassments, and situations that leave you wondering what the point of any of it was. After decades of doing intuitive work and living a spiritually guided life, I can tell you with certainty that the magic is always there. Sometimes you just have to dig a bit deeper before you can see it. Lesson #1: You Always Have Choices For my 40th birthday I wanted to do something very different. During my 30s I had read everything I could find about the Findhorn Garden and loved each book. Founded in 1962 by Peter and Eileen Caddy and their friend Dorothy MacLean, the Findhorn Garden flourished against all odds. Located in Scotland, on the sandy shores near the North Sea, the garden miracle resulted from intuitive guidance from plant devas, nature spirits, and their own intuition. The produce yield was astonishing, including 40lb. cabbages. I actually had the sacred privilege of meeting Dorothy MacLean in the early 1990s when she traveled to the US. Completely enthralled with their connection to nature spirits and elementals, I booked a trip to Scotland as my 40th birthday present to myself. More than 20 years after the books I’d read were published, things had changed considerably. None of the original founders still lived there, and the program for first-timers was uninspiring. I arrived to cold, rainy weather. I was shown to a room I was sharing with four other women. The shower was freezing cold. And I was given the esteemed job of vacuuming the dining room. Apparently my 40th birthday gift to myself included communal living complete with snoring and a spiritual janitorial position. Not What I Expected The scheduled workshops each somehow managed to be less magical than the last. After enduring one particularly awful exercise that required birthing myself, I asked the female group leader if we were going to be rolling around on the floor any further. She didn’t take it well and started shouting at me. What did she shout? “You have choices!” Well, that was unexpectedly useful. What a fabulous and timely reminder. That night I changed my flights. The next morning I walked into the office, let them know I was leaving early, and asked for a partial refund. One woman explained, “We don’t do that.” My response was simple and polite: “Well, you will today for me.” And they cut me a check. The woman who handed it to me said with genuine astonishment, “When people leave early, they usually aren’t happy like you are.” That comment still makes me laugh. I was happy because I had choices and I acted on them immediately. Lesson #2: Course Correction Is Its Own Kind of Magic A friend asked if I wanted to take a mediumship class. I’d taken one before and knew it wasn’t a passion of mine. The part I enjoy is relaying messages from loved ones, but most classes focus on evidential work. This is about identifying who the spirits are, which doesn’t light me up. But my friend wanted me there and it was inexpensive, so I said yes. During the second session, the teacher joined our Zoom breakout room. We were told to focus on one woman as our subject. Since mediumship isn’t my strength, I often feel hesitant. But this day I decided to fully trust myself and say whatever came to me. I was going for it! I picked up on a lot of details and was relaying them confidently when the teacher stopped me mid-stream: “Ok, Ronnie, let’s move on from that. I’ll explain why later.” Later came in front of over 80 people on the full group call. Her explanation? “What you were saying — you were making it up.” I wanted to crawl under a rock. Nothing like public humiliation to really open your psychic channels. Here’s where I netted out. Do I believe she can see every spirit that shows up and is 100% infallible? No. That’s a rather bold claim. Was everything I said completely wrong? I doubt that too. Maybe I was picking up on spirits simply not related to the subject — this happens all the time. Regardless, one thing was crystal clear. I had choices. And my choice was that this class wasn’t bringing me joy or serving my highest path. I stopped attending. A couple of weeks later the teacher reached out to ask why. I explained that being embarrassed in front of 80+ people didn’t call to me for more. This was a simple course correction. Not too glamorous, but that’s the magic. Lesson #3: Remember Who You Are I had landed a great spot in a day-long online summit with a wonderful lineup of speakers. Very exciting! The morning of the event I went to check out the schedule and discovered another speaker whose talk description appeared to borrow and rephrase much of what I had written about myself for this very summit. I was astonished and filled with anger. That’s not exactly the centered energy I was hoping for before my own talk. I called a friend to vent. That didn’t help or change anything. Shocking, I know. So I meditated, and from that place I asked my higher self, my guides, and angels: What is this about and what can I do? Here’s what came through: “Remember who you are and what you’re good at. Does her copying you affect your presentation? Can she deliver this information with the same knowledge or passion? No.” “You cannot control what others do, but you can let your energy drain away rather than focus on yourself and the opportunity in front of you. Be your best and let the chips fall where they will.” I pulled myself together and gave a wonderful, energizing presentation. I did my best and the copycat never crossed my mind again. Everything Is Magic I’ve done quite a bit of somatic healing work with my friend Jen Aks, founder of The Power of Gesture. One day I’d been through some unmagical event and worked through the emotion to release it with Jen. I told her what happened and how I was said that I didn’t get to experience the magic. Then she asked where I felt that in my body and what gesture could represent that. I demonstrated the showed and then another that followed showing I had moved on. This last gesture was like swimming, with one arm out in front of me at a time. As tears welled up in my eyes, what became clear was that I hadn’t missed out on any magic at all. As it turned out, EVERYTHING IS MAGIC! The Bigger Magical Picture Not everything is fun or exciting in a positive way and that’s okay. These three experiences still delivered practical magic. They redirected my attention and helped me course correct. Sometimes I needed time to look deeper for the message. Other times it was clear as day, even if I wasn’t thrilled about it. There truly is magic in everything. When something unpleasant happens, the practice is to calm yourself, take a step back, and look for the message or meaning. That’s when you can appreciate how things unfolded and what came next. So yes, it is absolutely okay to ask, “Where’s the f*ing magic in that?” And then look for it. That’s exactly how you find it. So, Where Is the Magic? Magic doesn’t always feel fun, uplifting, or even remotely pleasant in the moment Disappointing experiences often carry the most practical and redirecting lessons You always have choices, even when situations feel out of your control Course corrections are a form of magic, even when they’re unglamorous or not fun Remembering who you are and what you’re good at is its own kind of spiritual practice Looking for the lesson, even when you’re frustrated, is how you tune into and notice more magic Frequently Asked Questions What does it mean to find magic in a bad situation? It means looking for the lesson, message, or course correction that a difficult experience is offering you. The magic isn’t always fun or exciting. Sometimes it’s as simple as realizing you have choices, or that something isn’t serving your highest path and it’s time to move on. Do you have to be spiritual to find magic in hard times? Not at all. The core practice here is self-awareness. Pause when something goes wrong and asking yourself what this experience is redirecting you toward. That’s accessible to anyone, regardless of their spiritual background or beliefs. What do you do when you’re too angry or upset to see the lesson? That’s completely normal and human. The first step is simply to acknowledge the feeling rather than push through it. Meditation, talking to a trusted friend, or any practice that helps you calm your nervous system creates the space needed to step back and see things more clearly. Can this way of thinking apply to serious loss or trauma? This approach is really meant for everyday frustrations and disappointments — the situations that make you stop and think, seriously, where is the magic in this? It is not a framework for processing grief, trauma, or serious loss, which deserve their own care, time, and support. The post Where’s the F*ing Magic in That? appeared first on Intuitive Edge.

Here’s How the Horse Reassured Me It Was Really Speaking

Can Anyone Improve Intuition? If you’re looking to better connect with your inner knowing and improve intuition, you may have wondered whether it’s a gift reserved for a select few or something available to everyone. What I’ve learned after years, is that it’s more accessible than you believe. You simply need to practice, a little courage, and a willingness to trust what you receive. Group Energy Makes Intuition Stronger Over the weekend I participated in a reading circle. There were five women, and one by one we each asked a question while the others shared intuitive insights. I always enjoy gatherings like these, because when women come together to work with inner wisdom, the energy is greatly amplified. This creates stronger guidance and it’s one of the reasons why I love working in groups and leading them as well. Groups amplify the energy beyond what one person can typically access alone, and it seems to open something in everyone involved. One woman asked a question about a healing client, which turned out to be a horse. I haven’t done a lot of animal communication, although it does come up from time to time. Because of that, I’m not overly confident in this area and tend to trust myself more easily with humans. But the question was about helping the woman facilitate healing for the horse, so I did my best to tune in. What I heard turned out to be accurate, much to my surprise and delight. As I closed my eyes to focus, I heard a voice speaking to me, but I didn’t trust what was being shared. I immediately questioned it and wondered, “Am I making this up?” Then, in my mind’s eye,  I saw the horse scraping the ground with his front right hoof, clearly saying, “No, this is me, you are not making it up.” That was enough for me to settle in and listen. The Horse’s Message The horse didn’t like his situation and wanted to be moved from his stall in the barn. He also indicated there was some kind of discord between himself and the other two horses, although he didn’t go into detail. When it was my turn to share, I felt hesitant. I took a breath, acknowledged my uncertainty, and then repeated exactly what I had received. The woman’s response completely surprised me. She confirmed there were three horses. Originally, the male horse and a female had spent a lot of time together. Then another male was brought in, and the female bonded with him, leaving the original male on the outside. His stall was on one end next to the new male, while the female was on the opposite end,  no longer near him. This shift in relationship was distressing for him. The healer already knew the situation existed and confirmed it. She said she would speak to the owner about moving the horse for emotional reasons. Animal communicators often say horses are one of the most psychic animals and quite capable of telepathy. I guess so. This is exactly the kind of moment that builds self-trust, when you receive something you weren’t fully sure about, and it turns out to be REAL. Learn to Trust What You Get Back when I started learning to open up my intuition, I took many classes on psychic development and explored a wide range of tools. I tried everything I could find: clairvoyance, listening to spirit, writing messages from my guides, and psychometry, which involves holding an object and reading the energy connected to it. It took me a while to catch on. I practiced a lot before I felt comfortable or confident in what I was receiving. Today, the Vibration is Higher and Faster When I started teaching classes in the late 1990s, people would often catch on much faster than I did. They seemed to access things right away, whereas I had spent a long time developing my skills. I believe that has a lot to do with how quickly energy is moving today and how much the frequencies have shifted. When I first started, teachers said it took many years of consistent work to develop these abilities, but that’s not necessarily the case anymore. That said, practice still matters enormously. When you do the work, you begin to trust yourself more. And when you keep track of the messages you receive in a journal, even in simple bullet points, it gives you evidence you can look back on. When you think about intuition, when working with the unseen there is often no obvious proof that something meaningful has happened. But when you write it down, you can later look back and see what you heard and unfolded as a result. It’s one of the fastest ways I know to build self-trust and confidence. This becomes the proof you need to believe in yourself. How I Honed My Intuition I got serious about my intuitive journey by taking a past life course that lasted three months with six women and a teacher. We kept resigning, extending the program into a full year. This is where I first experienced how group energy amplifies your intuitive ability. Over that year, we all grew significantly and learned how to access past lives that were influencing our present experiences. Through the year, I became very close with one of the women, who is still a dear friend today. As we discussed what we were learning, something became clear to us. We realized that looking into the past was essentially the same skill as sensing the present or even looking into the near future. So, we began experimenting by asking questions about next steps in work situations or how to navigate personal challenges. To our surprise, it worked beautifully. It’s All the Same Skill What I’ve come to believe is that the skill you use to connect with intuition is the same, whether you’re tuning into the past or the present, seeking guidance, communicating with animals, or energy itself. The form may look different, but the connection is the same. I’ve seen this in my own experience. Even though I never formally studied animal communication, I was able to connect with that horse. The ability translates across different forms of intuitive work. That doesn’t mean every area feels equally strong right away, but it does mean the door is already open for you. I say this to let you know that you can do this too. It simply requires openness, awareness, intention, and practice. If you feel drawn to your intuitive abilities, follow that. Practice with a friend, or join a small group — that’s one of the fastest ways to build trust in yourself. If you’re listening and thinking, I want to do this… but I’m not sure how to start or how to trust what I’m getting, this is exactly why I created my program, Awaken Your Sixth Sense. This program will help you recognize your intuitive signals, trust what you receive, and actually use it in your everyday life when you’re making decisions or looking for answers. It’s simple, practical, and self-paced, with easy exercises you can start using right away, so you can discover what works best for you. And at just $27, with seven lessons, this makes it an easy way to get started without overthinking it. Because intuition isn’t something reserved for a select few. It’s something you already have. And when you begin to trust it, life starts to feel a lot more supportive and often more magical too. Key Takeaways Group energy amplifies intuitive ability beyond what one person can typically access alone. That’s why working in small groups accelerates development significantly. Doubt is a normal part of receiving intuitive information. Learning to push through it, rather than shutting down, is central to building trust in yourself. Journaling your intuitive hits, even brief bullet points, creates evidence you can return to, and that evidence is what builds lasting self-confidence. The skill behind intuition is universal. Whether you’re tuning into a person, an animal, the past, or the present, you’re using the same core ability. Intuitive frequencies are faster today than they were decades ago, meaning people often develop these skills more quickly now than ever before. Practice and community are the two fastest paths to developing confidence in your intuitive gifts. Frequently Asked Questions What is the most effective way to improve intuition? The most effective way to improve intuition is consistent practice. Tuning in regularly, whether alone, with a friend, or in a group, builds the muscle and helps you build confidence. How can I begin to trust my intuitive insights? Write your insights down in a journal used just for your intuitive work. This gives you a way to track your accuracy. You can look back and see how you did. Can anyone communicate with animals intuitively? You don’t need formal training in animal communication to receive intuitive impressions from animals. It’s the same skill you use to tune into people. Openness, intention, and a willingness to trust what you receive are the starting point. Does working in a group really improve intuition? Yes, group energy amplifies what each person can access individually. Many people find they receive more accurate intuitive information in a small group setting than when working alone. It’s one of the fastest ways to build both skill and confidence. The post Here’s How the Horse Reassured Me It Was Really Speaking appeared first on Intuitive Edge.

Feeling Emotionally Drained Helping Too Many People? Try This

Have you been feeling emotionally drained, because so many people are wanting your help? They want to talk about their life and problems or actually hope you can do something to improve their situation. The Problem with Helping For many spiritually aware women, you are also empathic, which means you can feel a person’s distress. That adds to the emotional exhaustion. You care deeply, you want to listen and support the people in your life, but where does it end? You need time for your own life and self-care. Here’s the shift most people miss. You don’t have to stop helping to stop the emotional drain. You simply need a new way to handle your energy while you care. In this post, you’ll discover two simple, magical practices that help you release what isn’t yours and support others without losing yourself in the process. They’re easy, surprisingly powerful, and they can change how your energy flows pretty quickly. I came across these practices in the Akashic Reading podcast with host Teri Uktena, and want to give her full credit for these powerful methods. I’ve add a bit of my own thoughts as well. Why You’re Feeling Emotionally Drained It’s not that you’re too sensitive or doing anything wrong. The truth is, you’re just holding more than you were ever meant to carry. When you’re intuitive or empathic, people naturally bring things to you. Their problems, their emotions, their confusion. And because you can feel it, you often do feel responsible for it. That’s where the drain begins. You worry, think about them and their problems, wonder perhaps how to fix things. Sometimes you feel like you should do more. Without realizing it, you’ve been carrying energy that was never yours to begin with. The “Not My Problem” Jar This is one of those practices that seems almost too simple, but it really works. In this case, you don’t need to do anything more, but choose to let go. The first step is to identify the person and problem where you have to draw the line, because the truth is, it’s just not your problem. Next, take a jar and label it something that makes you smile, like Not My Problem. When someone brings you an issue that you can’t, or shouldn’t, take on, write it down on a small piece of paper. Fold it up like you’re sealing it closed and drop it into the jar. That small act sends a clear message to your mind, your energy, and the Universe which is: this is not mine problem. You’re not being dismissive but setting a clear boundary. That clarity is what frees you from feeling emotionally drained in the first place. The Helping Bowl There are also moments when you genuinely want to help. You care. You’re invested. But you don’t want to walk away feeling depleted again. This is where the Helping Bowl comes in. Find a bowl you love and fill it with stones, glass beads, or crystals. Each one becomes a place to hold your intention instead of your body holding the energy. When someone needs support, take a moment to focus on them. Imagine things working out. Feel a sense of resolution, even just a little. Then place a stone in the bowl. You’ve done something real and offered support. But you haven’t taken it on as your own. It’s a small but important shift, that prevents the weight of the world from resting on your shoulders and feeling emotionally drained. How These Practices Impact Your Energy These two techniques are more than symbolic – they are energetic. Here’s what you are accomplishing by using either method: Creating a boundary without shutting down your heart Moving energy out of your body and into something physical Choosing what you carry and what you don’t Can you see how wonderfully these steps will help reduce the energetic and emotional drain on you? Instead of absorbing everything around you, you relate to all the requests for listening, advice, or help differently. You’ll experience a little more space and ease. Plus, a lot more self-trust about what is right for you. Key Takeaways Feeling emotionally drained isn’t a personal flaw, it’s a sign you’re carrying too much that isn’t yours You don’t have to stop helping others to protect your energy Simple physical practices can help you release and redirect emotional weight Boundaries can feel gentle and supportive, not harsh or rigid Your energy becomes lighter when you consciously choose what to hold A Better Way to Care You don’t have to close your heart or stop helping to feel better. And this doesn’t mean you’re someone who doesn’t care. Instead, you’re caring and helping in a way that doesn’t deplete your energy. You might still listen to people’s problems or offer help, but no longer to the extent that it drags you down. This is the kind of practical magic that’s so easy to do and effective as well. Just a jar, a bowl, and a conscious decision to stop carrying everyone else’s problems. Once you start, you’ll notice something shift within. You’ll feel lighter, clearer, have more energy and feel more like yourself again. From this place, everything you offer is tempered to help, but manage your own energy at the same time. That’s good self care! This is how you can stay centered in your own life and energized for what you need to do, while helping and caring about the people in your life. Chaos Can Produce Positive Outcomes

While it may seem the world is in chaos, that energy can also transform your life with surprising positive outcomes. The World Feels Chaotic Right now the world feels crazy. The news is relentless and social media is a mess. Conversations that used to feel easy have gotten complicated. If you’re checking your phone and feeling drained before you’ve even had your morning coffee, you’re in good company. But here’s what I want you to consider: What if all this chaos isn’t just something to survive? What if it’s actually something you can put to good use? After more than twenty years working with intuition and mindset, I’ve seen something really interesting The people who thrive in turbulent times aren’t the ones who tune everything out. That does help. But the ones who learn to redirect the energy, come out on top. That’s what I want to talk about today. Chaos Is Neutral Energy Here’s something most people don’t realize – chaos is not inherently bad. At its core, chaos is raw energy. It’s neutral and doesn’t have an agenda. What it does have is intensity, momentum, and the power to break things open. And if you think about it, that’s exactly what transformation requires. Think about what happens in nature. A wildfire is absolutely chaotic and destructive. But the forest that grows back afterward? More diverse, more resilient, more alive than before. The chaos clears the way and creates new opportunities. So the question isn’t how do I get away from all this chaos? The question is how do I stop absorbing it as negativity and start using it as fuel? In the Eye of the Storm It’s a known fact that the center of a hurricane, called the eye is calm. While the storm rages all around,  middle has a strange stillness. That’s a great image for what I’m describing. When the world is in chaos, you don’t have to spin with it. You can find your center and from that place, you can access clarity, creativity, and your own intuition in ways that get drowned out when you’re caught up in the commotion. This is where magic comes in and I mean that in practical terms. Magic is about intention, consciously directing your focus and energy toward what you want to create. It ahs nothing to do with reacting to whatever’s happening around you. When you focus on what you want to create, you shift from being at the mercy of external circumstances to being an active participant in your own life. That shift? That’s enormous. And it’s available to you right now, in the middle of whatever is going on. Real Magic Looks Like This I want to share a couple of real stories because magic isn’t just a feeling or a concept — it shows up in real life in some pretty surprising ways. A friend of mine has been apartment hunting in a tough real estate market. She’d looked at a bunch of places and nothing felt right. Then she found a condo that checked a lot of boxes, but she still wasn’t sure. I went with her for a second look and as we walked outside to leave, a raven was cawing loudly  in a tall tree nearby. If you know anything about animal symbolism, ravens represent magic and transformation and are seen as messengers from spirit. My friend and I both took this as a positive sign! She decided to take it and loves the apartment. Was that a coincidence? Not a chance in my mind. Here’s what I’ve learned after years of paying attention to these breadcrumb moments: when you’re open to signs, you notice them. These hints or clues can guide you toward aligned decisions. The synchronicity isn’t random — it’s the universe  or your higher self communicating in the language of symbols, and your intuition is what receives the message. Here’s another story. One of my clients was looking for a job and running into agism. It happens. After a year of looking, her energy was depleted and her outlook was dim. I lead her through my process to crack the shell of negativity and see possibilities again. Next, I shared a few ways to bring more magic into her job search. Within two weeks she had three interviews lined up! Amazing! “Aha” Moments Create Dopamine! You know that feeling when something suddenly clicks? When an insight arrives out of nowhere and it just feels true? The feelings you get when you encounter new knowledge or truth. Or even surprise and curiosity. and the thrill of discovery. These emotions aren’t just fun — they’re actually driving us toward growth. They’re signals that something real is happening, that we’re connecting with something that matters. Researchers have named this group of reactions “Epistemic emotions.” Here’s another fun fact: studies suggest that people who believe in magic are up to 34% happier. Not because magic is delusional but because a magical mindset is more optimistic. You tend to look for meaning, notice connections, stay curious, and are more engaged and resilient with how you move through life. When you see life through this lens, you’re finding the layers within it. And that makes everything richer, and sometimes even more fun. This Isn’t Bypassing I want to be clear about something. This isn’t about pretending everything is fine or skipping over your real feelings. Chaos is real. Hard things are real. If you’re going through something difficult, that difficulty deserves to be acknowledged. Spiritual bypassing, where you use positive thinking to avoid actually dealing with something, isn’t magic. It’s avoidance with glitter on it. What I’m talking about is something different. It’s moving through the hard things and then consciously choosing where to direct your energy next. It’s feeling what’s real and still refusing to hand your power over to it. Midlife Isn’t What They Told You Our culture tends to frame midlife as a time of winding down as if the adventure is behind you. You’re supposed to be figuring out how to maintain what you have rather than reaching for anything new. That is not my experience, and it’s not the experience of the women I work with. Midlife, which is life after 50 is not just a number. It’s actually one of the most creatively rich and magically potent phases of life. You know yourself better and have survived hard things. You have less tolerance for nonsense and more clarity about what actually matters. You’re not starting over, but starting from a much stronger foundation. The chaos that’s happening in the world? Instead of letting you get you down, which would be understandable, what if you let the external chaos remind you that transformation is possible? A Time of Choices You can choose what to absorb or redirect. You can look for the signs and synchronicities that guide you. You can use this wild, intense, chaotic period in history as the very thing that pushes you toward the life you actually want to live. That’s not wishful thinking. That’s magic — and it’s yours to use. If you’re feeling stuck and want support to navigate the chaos, reconnect with your intuition and inner magic, I’d love to chat. A one-hour Laser Shift Session is a powerful way to get clarity on one situation to get moving again. No deep dives, digging up the past, or shadow work. Inner Wisdom, Spiritual Breadcrumbs, and Card Readings

I sat down with Dina Berrin, an intuitive guide, tarot reader, certified life coach, and  author  for this totally delightful conversation about inner wisdom on the Breathe Love & Magic podcast interview. Get her Free Gift, the Tarot Coach Approach here. How to Lift the Dark Cloud Let’s just say it. Right now, the world feels heavy. A lot of people are avoiding the news and holding onto a low-grade anxiety that can’t be clearly identified. You know that image of Pig-Pen from the Peanuts cartoons? He walked around with a little cloud of dust overhead that followed him everywhere. These days many of us are walking around just like that. But here’s what Dina and I both believe – you don’t have to live like that, under that cloud. You are the driver of your life. You’re not the passenger, passively sitting there, hoping to get somewhere at some point. But as the driver, you get to choose your cargo and what you leave at the curb. You are in charge of the trip. Dina shared the power of building a daily practice centered on calm and ease. She’s not saying you need a complicated, long morning routine that adds pressure to your plate. Her suggestion is simple and consistent. Maybe it’s short meditation. Or do some journaling, letting your worries spill onto the page, so they stop circling in your head. Perhaps you say affirmations or do something magical. The form matters less than the intention. Showing up for yourself everyday, with presence and intention for inner peace and connection to your higher self or spirit. Consistency is the key ingredient, according to Dina. When you tend to your inner world with that kind of devotion, something shifts. You start to bring a different energy into everything you do. Right now, you need that extra dose of light and so does everyone else. Follow the Breadcrumbs This is how spirit and your intuition communicate when you’re paying attention. Inner wisdom is rarely a big thunderbolt of a message. More often, it’s like a trail of breadcrumbs. In the dating world, “breadcrumbing” has a bad reputation. It’s stringing someone along to keep them hooked. But Dina and I talked about the positive aspect of breadcrumbs when it comes to your inner wisdom. The universe often leaves you hints, nudges, and perfectly timed coincidences to help you find your way. Breadcrumbs! Once you start to pay attention, you’ll start seeing those crumbs everywhere. A book falls off the shelf. A conversation with a stranger answers a question that’s been on your mind. You get a feeling in your gut that says “Yes”. The idea is to simply follow the trail and understand that more will be revealed, but usually one step at a time. You rarely get to see the entire map up front. That’s just how it is with spirit most of the time. Living Authentically Here’s where things get really juicy. Dina and I spent time exploring what it means to live authentically  and how much of our lives we spend doing the opposite without even realizing it. Most people have been conditioned to look outside themselves for answers. They seek validation, approval, and permission. You become fluent in the language of other people’s expectations and so many have lost touch with their own inner knowing and wisdom. Becoming self-aware is the solution. This is about the gentle, curious kind of awareness and the practice of noticing how you act and react. Get really clear if you’re showing up as you or as the version of you that’s trying to keep everyone else happy. Dina puts it so simply. When you’re deeply connected to what you truly need and want, you stop solely pleasing everyone else. This is how you cultivate self-trust. You build the kind of confidence that doesn’t require anyone else’s validation. And from that place, you’re more present, and genuinely useful to the people around you. Respecting and taking care of yourself serves more than just you. It really does serve everyone’s highest good. Turning to Tarot One of my favorite moments is when Dina told me a story about her daughter was waiting to hear where high school she got accepted to. Such a stressful situation, it turned into one of those agonizing periods where the outcome feels completely out of your hands. That’s when Dina did what she always does. She turned to her tarot deck. Wondering what this meant and how things would resolve, she pulled a card. Not just any card, but she chose the Sun card. This is radiant, optimistic symbolism that everything would absolutely work out for her daughter. That card became her calming anchor through three months of difficult uncertainty. And at the end of those three months, and far too many meetings and phone calls, her daughter landed a wonderful high school placement. Here’s how Dina and I both think about it picking a card. Tools like tarot, numerology, and astrology aren’t about handing your power over to something outside yourself. These sacred tools are more like mirrors of your inner wisdom. They reflect back what your own intuition already knows, and calm the inner turmoil, so your inner voice can actually be heard. The cards, runes, and I-ching among others, are tools for self-understanding. Who couldn’t use a little more understanding? You Are the Magic If I could bottle up the essence of my conversation with Dina, it would be a calm, steady belief that you are not broken, lost, or left behind. You are someone with deep inner wisdom who may have simply gotten distracted from your truth. Your intuition is still there. The breadcrumbs are still being dropped. The tools are waiting for you. All that’s left for you to do is follow the trail and trust that it’s leading somewhere wonderful, appropriate, and luminous. Dina has a beautiful free gift called The Tarot Coach Approach — three ways to make heart-centered, intuitive decisions even when life feels overwhelming.
