141 episodes

Each episode, we discuss at least one classic game each, looking at them from a modern perspective but also remembering where they stand in the evolution of game development. Sometimes they're games we played and loved growing up. Sometimes they're games we missed and are experiencing for the first time. Though we each have our core beloved genres, we all play a variety of games of various styles, eras, and platforms.

Great Podcast

If your looking for a relaxed but knowledgeable take on classic games this is the podcast for you. The hosts are good guys who simply want to share their thoughts about video games. Even if they don’t like Double Dragon as much as me it’s worth checking out!

Chase (Yes, That Chase)

After running a train on this podcast's backlogs I feel it's only fair to give them a solid rating. A consistantly funny and interesting take from three guys on the old video games they love (or love to hate). Their format is solid, starting with News, then leading into the games they played, shifting over to their top 3-5-10's, dealing with listener email and closing off with Modern Gaming SubCast.

If you like Retro Games or are looking to get into playing Retro games, and want frank, helpful, and sometimes hilarious opinions on games from the past I would say this is the Podcast for you. Different from Podcasts like Retronauts these gentlemen choose to focus less on the production and design side of things, and more on the gameplay and what parts of the game still hold up compared to cames today. Also the deversity of games each member of the Podcast team plays means there is a great spread of opinions and titles for you to hear about.

One of my personal favourite podcasts and one I would suggest to any retrogaming fan.

Thanks for the free funny

While I was never into video games much as a child its the humour that really gets me with these guys. This podcast is worth a listen even if you don’t have an extensive gaming history. If you’ve ever played or watched someone play a video game when growing up, you can relate to these guys and its worth a listen. After every new episode I am constantly wanting more.
