Ep. 206 | Don't Outsource Your Humanity to AI: A Quick Guide to How Christians Should Use AI

On this episode, Abigail breaks down a conversation from her Counteract cell about Pope Leo's AI encyclical, what it means to be made in the image of God, and a simple framework (CIRCLE) for where AI does and doesn't belong in a Christian's life. This one gets personal. Abigail walks through her own missteps with AI (yes, including asking ChatGPT for relationship advice) and makes the case that creation, inspiration, reasoning, conversation, love, and enlightenment are uniquely human gifts we shouldn't hand off to a machine — even as she's honest about where AI can be a useful tool for research and organization. It's a call to be proactive instead of reactive about protecting what makes us human. Join us at Resolve to Stand this October 2-3 in Rogers, AR — link below. Use code PODCAST20 for 20% off. Ep. 205 | Communism, Socialism, & Why Christians Should Be Able to Spot Marxism When We See It

President Trump said "communism" eleven times in his Fourth of July address — and it got Media Strategist Emma Dotson thinking. On this episode, Abigail breaks down what communism and socialism actually mean, why they keep showing up in our politics, and how Christians should think about them without just repeating slogans. We can't push back on an idea we can't define. Abigail traces socialism and communism back to Marx, talks through equality vs. equity, why utopia always collapses without Christ, and why the real problem was never the system — it's the human heart. Ep. 204 | Watching the Charlie Kirk Murder Case in a Conspiracy-Crazed Culture

How should Christians respond when the internet-turns-jury and conspiracies rage? In this episode, Abigail unpacks the cultural response to the Charlie Kirk murder case proceedings and why believers must resist the pull of conspiracy spirals, outrage, and premature conclusions. As the legal process unfolds, she explores what Scripture teaches about truth, justice, discernment, and the danger of treating real tragedy like entertainment. How should Christians think about due process? What does biblical critical thinking look like in a culture driven by speculation? And how do we remain anchored in Christ when emotions, politics, and social media are pulling us in every direction? "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'" — Romans 12:19 Follow Abigail on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abigail.dejarnatt/ For more about Counteract USA: Website: https://counteractusa.org/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/counteract.usa/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/counteract.usa/ For more about the Herzog Foundation: Website: https://www.herzogfoundation.com/ For more about the Real Life Network: Website: https://reallifenetwork.com/ RTS 2026 (October 2–3, Rogers, AR) Tickets + Info: https://counteractusa.org/resolve-to-stand-conference-2026 Use code PODCAST20 for 20% off your ticket! Ep. 203 | We Watched "Disclosure Day" So You Don't Have To (Guests: Lydia Paris & Caleb DeJarnatt)

"It’s my first film that will be considered science fiction that I do not consider to be science fiction..." - Steven Spielberg On this episode, Abigail is joined by her seminary friends (brother, Caleb DeJarnatt & her best friend and Counteract USA Cell Program Director, Lydia Paris) to break down Steven Spielberg's new film "Disclosure Day," and why a movie like this deserves more than just a passive watch (but we don't recommend you watch it). They talk through the aliens-as-demons and witchcraft parallels in the film, the cultural push to make empathy the supreme value of the universe, and what it means that humans alone are made in the image of God. This isn't really a movie review. It's a reminder that the stories our culture keeps telling shape what we believe is normal, whether we're paying attention or not. Discernment isn't optional for Christians. It's how we stay grounded while the world keeps asking questions we've had answers to the whole time. "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5:8 Follow Abigail on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abigail.dejarnatt/ Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@counteractusa For more about Counteract USA:Website: https://counteractusa.org/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/counteract.usa/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/counteract.usa/ For more about the Herzog Foundation:Website: https://www.herzogfoundation.com/ For more about the Real Life Network:Website: https://reallifenetwork.com/ RTS 2026 (October 2-3, Rogers, AR) Tickets + Info: https://counteractusa.org/resolve-to-stand-conference-2026Use code PODCAST20 for 20% off your ticket! Ep. 202 | Rodeo, Tradition, and What It Means to Love America (Guest: Caleb DeJarnatt)

Happy America 250! On this episode, Abigail is joined by her brother Caleb DeJarnatt (who drinks multiple Dr. Peppers throughout the course of this episode) for a Fourth of July conversation about America's 250th birthday, their hometown rodeo, and why traditions like this one shape our love for our community and our country. This one is a little more lighthearted, but carries a real point. Caleb and Abigail talk through the creation mandate, what it looks like to celebrate a country without putting our hope in it, and why traditions (not trends) are what hold families and communities together. They land on a simple challenge: think about what you love about where you live, and how you can steward that well while pointing people back to Jesus. Ep. 200 | Five Years of Counteract USA! (Guest: Allie Paris)

We could never have fully imagined all God had in store. Abigail sits down with Co-Founder and COO Allie Paris to walk through the origin story of Counteract USA — from basement meetings and selling hot dogs at Razorback games in college to building a national Gen Z ministry. They answer questions submitted by the Counteract community, reflect on what has surprised them most, what has grown them the most personally, and what keeps them going on the hardest days. Listen in as two friends celebrate what God has done and look ahead with open hands to whatever He has next! "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Ep. 199 | Should Christians Care About Aliens? (Guest: Caleb DeJarnatt)

Are Christians actually prepared for the conversation the rest of the world is already having? Should we be? In this episode, Abigail sits down with her brother Caleb DeJarnatt—seminary graduate and resident theology nerd—to talk about why the alien conversation is something Christians should be able to engage in, and why it’s really not as weird as it sounds. From Ephesians 6 to the plagues of Egypt to C.S. Lewis's Space Trilogy, they dig into why a biblical worldview is the most equipped framework for making sense of the reality of nonhuman intelligent life, the devaluation of the Imago Dei, and why materialism—even among Christians—can leave us completely unprepared for a topic that will continue to pervade our culture. Listen in as they make the case that the world is not just stuff, and that Christians have no reason to fear what we already have a framework for. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” — Ephesians 6:12-13 ESV Links: Follow Abigail on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abigail.dejarnatt/
