Asking Yourself the Right Questions So You Can Grow | EP 30

Dive into the 30th episode of Creating a Village as we explore the transformative power of self-evaluation and self-awareness. Join Milli as she shares her personal experiences and insights into making meaningful changes and understanding one's emotions. This episode is a beacon for anyone looking to strengthen their relationship with themselves and others. Methods you can use to keep track of you self-evaluations: Video journaling, audio recordings, handwritten journals, digital journaling, combo journaling Try end of week reflections, bi-weekly, or in the momentQuestions What do I need to acknowledge within myself in order to make the changes I want? Where did I learn my [fill in the blank] habits from? Who did I learn them from? Do I know anybody else who kind of functions in a similar way? What are some things that I've learned about myself recently? How does this particular realization make me feel?  How have people described me in the past? How would they describe me now? And then how would I describe myself? What words would people use to describe me when I’m feeling my best/when I’m feeling my worst? Are there words that I want to be associated with me? What are they? Why those words? What steps do I think I need to take to be those words if I’m not already? Processing Questions: What are the things that I want to hold onto that I grew up with?  What are things that I've been holding onto growing up that I don't want anymore? What is it? Why don't I want it? Who did it come from? Where did I get it? What experience caused it? Where did I get this from? Who was it that I interacted with? What's that about? What/where do I feel that comes from? How am I going to be now? Broad question: Why am I the way that I am? Am I happy with who I am?  Questions to ask to get closer to the broader questions: Why am I so angry? Why am I so ornery/argumentative? Why do I have to want to isolate myself?  It starts with asking the question first “Why do I…?” and then saying, who else in my life is like this? If it's nobody else, then it's like, what shows or entertainment am I consuming? What thoughts go through my head when I'm reacting? The goal is to ask questions and to go deeper into that. Why was it this? Why was it all of these? The goal isn't to find an answer, it's to ask questions. What can I do? What can I control to influence the situation so that I can function better? What are we dealing with? Why am I dealing with this? What is it that I'm feeling right now? How am I reacting to something right now? That word that you capture, that's the word that you investigate on. Why do I feel like this? It's not a problem, it's a question. Once you get some clarity: How will I behave? Am I going to grow?
