    950. City of Spruce Grove Councillor Erin Stevenson

Spruce Grove is a city in transition — growing quickly, while working to preserve the community character that brought people here in the first place. For municipal leaders, that growth comes with difficult questions: how to manage development, provide services, invest in infrastructure, and make sure residents have a voice in the future of their city. Today on Cross Border Interviews, we sit down with City of Spruce Grove Councillor Erin Stevenson. We'll talk about life in municipal leadership, the issues facing Spruce Grove, the challenges and opportunities that come with growth, and her vision for the community's future. Because at the local level, politics isn't just about policies and council chambers. It's about the people who call the city home. 949. Town of Smithers Mayor Gladys Atrill

In northern British Columbia, communities like Smithers are shaped by a unique mix of small-town character, natural beauty, economic opportunity, and the challenges that come with being far from the country’s largest cities. And leading a community through those challenges requires more than making decisions at City Hall. It requires listening, balancing competing priorities, and having a clear vision for the future. Today on Cross Border Interviews, we sit down with Gladys Atrill, Mayor of the Town of Smithers. We'll talk about her experience in municipal leadership, the issues facing Smithers, and the opportunities and challenges that come with guiding a growing northern community, and how, after serving her community for over a decade she has decided to hang up her hat as a public servant in October. This is a conversation about leadership, community, and the future of a town that plays an important role in northern British Columbia. 948. City of Lacombe Councillor Torie Goings

Lacombe is a city with a small-town character — a community balancing growth, opportunity, and the everyday challenges that come with both. At the heart of those decisions is city council, where local issues can have a very personal impact on the people who live here. Today on Cross Border Interviews, we sit down with City of Lacombe Councillor Torie Goings. We'll talk about life in municipal leadership, the issues facing Lacombe, the challenges of growth, and what it takes to build a strong community for the future. Our conversation is about local government — but ultimately, it's about people, place, and the community the people of Lacombe call home.
