    Two Pediatric Vitiligo Trials. Same Cream. Different Continents (Ep. 75)

    For years, approved ruxolitinib cream has stopped at age 12. Younger children have had a much shorter menu: steroids, tacrolimus, light therapy if you can get a slot, and a lot of waiting. Now two Phase III studies are evaluating ruxolitinib cream in younger children. Its use for vitiligo in these age groups is investigational — researchers are still finding out how well it works and how safe it is. Real protocols. Real sites. Not a rumor from a parent group. Then the catch: they are not the same study. Mix them up and a family books the wrong continent. In this episode of Deep Dive in Vitiligo, we put the trials side by side. You’ll hear: North American trial TRuE-ViP (NCT06548360) — ages 2 to 11, United States and Canada The international trial (NCT06804811, Incyte INCB18424-309) — starts at age 6, Argentina plus 13 European countries, no U.S. or Canadian sites What they share: nonsegmental vitiligo, a 10% body-surface ceiling, active-versus-vehicle treatment during the first 24 weeks, facial scoring at Week 24, and some restrictions. Why an 8-year-old can fit both studies by age and neither by postcode. Do not stop a working routine because two trial pages appeared in the same week. Ask the site what would pause. Then call the child’s regular dermatologist. Yes is a reasonable answer. No is a reasonable answer.
