Discovering Jazz

Engaging, friendly program about all things jazz. Larry jazzes up my daily walks, provides a nice background sound to my daily reading, and offers a superbly curated background jazz to jazz up my daily tasks. Erudite without ever being pretentious, this is a show that will please the jazz novice as well as the knowledgeable listener.

Larry used to play the open stage I hosted, and always shared lovely stories about jazz legends and players I needed to learn about. This podcast is such a wonderful way to package that information for relative newbies like myself, and I’m so glad to have found it. Thanks Larry! Matt Diamond

I was looking for a stream to play while I read or study and was tired of the ads on YouTube. This channel has been great. Plus I don’t mind the host speaking to provide an informative perspective. A welcomed interruption.

Wonderful podcast. Larry has very engaging and well-researched look at many different phases of jazz history. I love the long form that podcasting permits, and the many new discoveries made available here. Great for long walks with music and commentary. As a person who loves to learn, especially about music; it's nice to encounter a kindred spirit here. Happily the commentary is succinct and the music is great!
