Grief and Growth: Finding Peace in the Process with Vaness Henry

Debbie sits down to chat with her friend Vaness Henry to explore the intricate relationship between trust, human design, and the experience of grief. They discuss the importance of developing embodied trust, which is rooted in personal experience and self-awareness, as opposed to blind trust that lacks discernment. The conversation delves into the complexities of navigating grief, the significance of rituals in the healing process, and how our environments can influence our emotional well-being. They emphasize the need to demystify death and grief, encouraging open discussions about these topics to foster understanding and support. Highlights: - Trust is the foundation of everything. - Control is an illusion; we can only control our responses. - Embodied trust develops from lived experience and self-awareness. - Grief is a natural part of life and should be embraced. - Rituals can aid in the healing process during grief. - Our environments significantly impact our emotional well-being. - It's okay to not know how to grieve; that is part of the process. - We all have different ways of processing grief and loss.  - Open discussions about death can demystify the topic and foster connection. - Embracing the flow of life allows for new perspectives and opportunities. Falling Forward: The Six Stages of Trust

Having walked through the devastating loss of her son in 2008, Debbie discovered that the pathway through grief begins with one courageous act: choosing to trust yourself again. Not because you have all the answers, but because deep wisdom flows when you become still enough to listen. This episode explores trust not as a destination but as the bedrock of inner authority that sustains us through life's most challenging transitions. Highlights: A Course in Miracles offers a map of the six stages of trust that can guide us through grief and transformationThe undoing stage involves things falling away—relationships, roles, plans—that once held value but no longer serve usSorting out helps us discern what truly serves our peace versus what was just survival or egoRelinquishment is where surrender deepens as we let go of the valueless to make room for something greaterSettling down brings a pause where peace begins to take rootUnsettling occurs when the ego resurfaces—not a regression but a refinementAchievement is where trust becomes embodied and peace becomes our homeEmbodied trust in leadership means modelling defencelessness and presenceTrust isn't something you earn, it's something you rememberThis episode was produced by six-two.studio --- Debbie Rosenfelt supports leaders in navigating times of tragic loss or big life changes, ensuring they process their experience by tending to their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. Reframing Loss: Leadership Lessons from Life's Hardest Moments

Debbie shares the TEDx talk she created but ultimately chose not to deliver on the TEDx South Congress stage, exploring how we can transform grief into a catalyst for growth, leadership, and purpose. Through her personal story of losing her son to suicide, she reveals how the statement "There has to be more to life than this" led her to discover a powerful perspective shift from viewing life through the gap of what's missing to appreciating the gain of how far we've come. Debbie is here to guide, mentor and support you through the mess and through the crisis in the moment. Highlights: Debbie and her colleague read and studied "The Gap in the Gain" by Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan, which provided a fresh perspective on approaching life's challengesGrief is the normal emotional reaction to loss of any kind—not just death, but also loss of hopes, identity, relationships, or directionThe "grief gap" focuses on what's been lost and keeps us stuck in the pastThe "grief gain" focuses on what's been gained through the experience: insights, love, deeper meaning, and resilienceTrue leadership isn't about avoiding discomfort but about presence, standing in discomfort, and learning from painDebbie applies this perspective to her current challenge of caring for her mother after surgery with unexpected complicationsResources: The Gap and The Gain This episode was produced by six-two.studio --- Debbie Rosenfelt supports leaders in navigating times of tragic loss or big life changes, ensuring they process their experience by tending to their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. Finding Grace in Life's Unpredictable Waves: A Journey Through Loss and Self-Discovery

The past two years have tested Debbie. Her family weathered the loss of both her brothers within months of each other, her mother-in-law's passing, and the recurring grief on the anniversaries of losing her son and father. These experiences have reinforced what she has learned as an emotional manifestor with a 3/5 profile in Human Design: consciousness isn't just a spiritual concept—it's the water we're swimming in, the field through which we move, create impact, encounter resistance, and adjust course. After losing her son sixteen years ago, Debbie learned that processing grief isn't about following someone else's roadmap—it's about creating the space to listen deeply to what you need. For her, this meant combining grief counselling with energy healing to prevent emotional stagnation, physical exercise, supportive relationships, and eventually, deeper studies into coaching and human design.
