Everything Accordion Podcast

I started listening to this podcast from the beginning a few weeks ago and I am always astonished by the level of discourse that occurs here. The host is very smart and always asks the most interesting and penetrating questions. As someone who lives in Canada(I am a student of the great Matti Pulkki and it was via your interview with him that I found your show)your discussions are beyond the realm of any accordion discussion in North America. There is virtually no understanding of the great instrument being an excellent classical instrument nor a vehicle for playing contemporary music. Sadly people still only identify the accordion on this continent with polkas and country folk tunes,if they consider it at all. Thanks to the abundance of teaching available on the internet today I am finding a lot more people locally are starting to pick up the instrument. In even the most major cities of this very spacious country one can’t find a local teacher,and apart from Matti and Michael Bridge,almost no one can teach free bass. I am most fortunate to have met Matti when he first moved to Canada and with his very busy schedule he has agreed to take me on. There are other great accordionists around the world that I wonder if you would consider interviewing. Greyson Manesfeld in New Zealand is a coupe Mondiale champion, Nikolay Bine russian, Now living in New York is an exceptional jazz accordionist. Matti’s up until very recent teacher Joe Macerrollo is one of the foremost teachers and players in the contemporary scene in the world,if not the foremost. For the most part he is retired but he would have a great deal of stories to tell you. And Joan Cochrane in Kansas who just turned ninety was for the past few decades the most prominent teacher in the United States. They all have fascinating stories to tell. Also there is Joseph Natoli and Patricia Bartell,Sergey Telshev and his young daughter. Together they run the very popular Accordion Stars competition for viewers to watch for free every year. I am now publicizing your podcast to every accordion site I belong to. I would very happily support your work as a patreon member but for the time being all of my finances are tied up in legal matters so down the road… You are doing great work and I thank-you for the time,money and effort you put into this. You are educating many players in North America who probably never heard of the vastness of the accordion repertoire.
