Hockey is still a very white, male world. Even in women’s hockey associations, there are a lot of men. In Clarington, the Clarington Girl’s Hockey Association is now led by a woman: Julie Vanhartingsveldt. Today we are going to discuss how women’s hockey has changed, how it continues to evolve, and how it needs to evolve.
Julie Van Hartingsveldt joins me to talk about the state of women’s hockey in Clarington, and how it came to be that she is the president of this great community organization!
I do reference the AAA Zone organization (led by Cheryl Littlejohn) as the Northshore Wave....not sure where that came from....they are the Northshore Whitecaps with great Seattle Kraken style uniforms. My apologies.

Local Politics
Steve does an excellent job of reaching out and engaging with the local politicians that are running for election in our municipality. He especially does a good job of directing questions to them that the average person would like to ask if they had a chance to sit down with their local politician. So thanks Steve I think you’re doing the municipality a real service with your exit for 25 podcast.
