Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was not a simple show. And Fred Rogers was not a simple man. He was radical. Spiritual. Revolutionary. Maybe even subversive. Bestselling author and cultural critic Carvell Wallace hosts this 10-part series about the life, thinking and work of Fred Rogers, and asks what the cardigan wearing host of a decades-old children's show can tell us about how to get by in today's chaotic world. Produced in partnership with Transmitter Media.

Spiritual encouragement

Having seen a lot of Fred Rogers in articles and film recently, I was familiar with many of the guests and anecdotes covered in this series. What struck me about this podcast though is its thoughtful reflection on what is our part? What should we take away from the life and work of Fred Rogers if not the spark to be good neighbours ourselves? It is not merely about good feelings, but good action.

Thank you to the producers, guests, and especially Carvell Wallace for accompanying my Sunday evening dishwashing in such a neighbourly way. And for pointing toward a bite of spiritual encouragement where I least expected it.

Yours Sincerely,
Ontario Neighbour

This podcast cuts through the fear and cynicism that clutters our daily life. One of the most important podcasts of the decade - thank you for bringing the work and philosophy of Fred Rogers to life in such a meaningful way
