    58. Comparison: A Tool for Success or a Weapon of Self-Destruction

    58. Comparison: A Tool for Success or a Weapon of Self-Destruction

Comparison can be a powerful tool or a hurtful weapon, depending on how we use it. Let's be honest, most of us have experienced it as a weapon of self-destruction. So, how can you utilize and avoid any negative self-talk or self-doubt?

First, we need to ask ourselves if we really want what we're comparing ourselves to. If you're feeling pressured to pursue a certain goal because of comparison, but you don't genuinely want it, then it's time to let it go. Focus on what makes you happy and brings you joy, and forget about what anyone else thinks. If you don't truly want it, why are you even comparing yourself in the first place? It's time to focus on what we truly desire, rather than comparing ourselves to others.

We've all been there, feeling like we're not good enough because we're comparing ourselves to someone else's achievements. It's called comparisonitis, and it's a nasty habit that we need to kick to the curb. Instead, let's celebrate the success of others and use it as inspiration to achieve our own goals.

We can use comparison as a positive influence in our lives by learning from others and using their success as motivation to achieve our own greatness. Comparison can only bring you down if you let it!

What you'll hear in this episode:

[3:15] Comparison is a tool that can be used to help us or to hurt us.

    [8:25] Comparison in sports.

[11:15] Using comparison positively in your business.

[15:35] What if you're stuck in comparison even when you don't want the thing you're comparing yourself to?

    [19:40] Getting real with yourself

    57. 7 Signs You're Experiencing Burnout

    57. 7 Signs You're Experiencing Burnout

It's time to get real about avoiding burnout and recognizing the signs of potential burnout. Added bonus, Arianne is back after her spine surgery!

Let's start with the first sign of burnout - starting off the day by putting out fires. No one wants to wake up to unexpected emergencies, right? So let's set some boundaries and prioritize tasks effectively to avoid feeling frazzled and stressed from the get-go.

Now, we need to talk about neglecting basic needs such as eating breakfast and relying on caffeine to stay alert. Your body needs fuel, and caffeine can only do so much. So, let's establish healthy habits and prioritize self-care - because you deserve it and neglecting your body's basic needs can actually do the opposite of what you intended and negatively affect your productivity and health in the long run.

You also don't need to be reachable 24/7, you CAN turn on do not disturb. Trust us, your sanity will thank you for it. Chronic stress and anxiety are not helping you achieve greatness. You also need to take breaks and set realistic expectations to prevent burnout.

Now, let's get to the juicy stuff. Saving your happiness until after your goal? Not on our watch! Find joy in the journey and celebrate small wins along the way! We're also diving into the problem of comparison and chasing other people's goals. You are unique and have your own path to greatness. Set personal goals and find your own sense of purpose and fulfillment!

What you'll hear in this episode:

    [1:10] Welcoming Arianne back

[5:51] First Sign: Starting off the day putting out fires

[9:55] Second Sign: Drinking coffee as soon as you wake up and not eating

[14:05] Third Sign: Keeping all of your notifications on all the time

    [17:35] Fourth Sign: Working 24/7

[20:35] Fifth Sign: Forgetting to eat throughout the day

[24:05] Sixth Sign: Saving your happiness until after your goal

[26:40] Seventh Sign: Getting caught up in chasing other people's goals

Amazing!!!

Absolutely love your sharing and honesty!! I can so relate to both of you, I’m a barrel racer driven to do what others say that I can’t. I’ve never had lots of money to purchase the seasoned horse or the newest vehicle to pull my trailer. A friend once said to me that these are your limitations but how are you going to make what you want to do happen.
