Immigration Canada - What's happening here? with Christopher Balkaran

Today’s conversation is an important one. I’m joined by Christopher Balkaran, someone who isn’t afraid to go deep into topics that often get overlooked—or oversimplified. Christopher is objective, factual, and brings much-needed nuance to complex issues. At a time when so much attention is focused on immigration enforcement in the U.S., particularly around ICE, we turn our lens to what’s happening here in Canada. Why is immigration suddenly so controversial? What’s actually changed over the last few years? In this episode, Christopher unpacks the realities behind the headlines—looking at health care impacts, workforce pressures, criminal law differences, and the policies shaping who comes in and how decisions are made. This is a conversation about facts, context, and consequences—beyond fear-based narratives. If you’ve been feeling confused, concerned, or simply wanting a clearer picture of what’s really going on with immigration in Canada, this episode is for you. 🎙️ Follow and get a hold of Christopher Balkaran 🌐 Website: https://christopherbalkaran.com/ 🎧 Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/2UR7qKCCy24Mn2mCQddn5I 📸 Instagram: @openmindspod 🎥 https://www.youtube.com/@christopher_balkaran _________________________ Stay connected, subscribe or follow meOn instagram: @lyanne.pintoOn spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1VExN1mFc5dYVk8h1LddfbOn Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/from-the-heart/id1729268533 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@LyannePinto/videos All links: https://linktr.ee/lyannepinto Support Lyanne's Offerings: If you find value in these talks and wish to support their continuation, please consider making a donation. Ep. 65 - Processing a difficult birth with Chandra Landry

I am thrilled to have Chandra on the pod again! Chandra's first birth was marked with difficult steps and unknowns. Considering today's culture of birth, viewed with lots of fear and urgency, I approached Chandra to ask her how she processed her birth story. What prepped her while she was pregnant? What she did during and after to help herself process? What advice does she have for women preparing for birth? Chandra has delivered 4 children and her love and delight to bring babies into the world is heart warming.Even coming from a place of previous difficulty (or trauma), we can make informed and intuitive decisions. Chandra is a phenomenal expander in this regard. ________________________ You can find Chandra on IG: chandra_lefandry Chandra's previous episode: Ep. 62 - A surrogacy story: https://youtu.be/uFPyhcODhbM ________________________ Stay connected, subscribe or follow me On instagram: @lyanne.pinto On spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1VExN1mFc5dYVk8h1Lddfb On Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/from-the-heart/id1729268533  Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@LyannePinto/videos  All links: https://linktr.ee/lyannepinto  Support Lyanne's Offerings: If you find value in these talks and wish to support their continuation, please consider making a donation.
