Childhood ghost story

Dear Roz, I love the show! It combines my love of ghost stories and drag queens perfectly! Keep up the good work :) My ghost story begins from my earliest childhood memories. I grew up for the first 10 years of my life in a city suburb where most of the homes in the suburb were built in the 1950s & 60s, so Cold War era. Because of this a lot of the houses in our neighbourhood had fall-out rooms build into the basement part of the homes. Ours in particular was located at the bottom of the basement stairs and was a cube like room with thick concrete walls, ceiling and floor consisting of one single drain in the middle of the floor and a light. Since it was the mid 1980s-90s when my family lived there my parents used the fallout room as a cold storage for wine & potatoes. The house in particular was a two story with all the bedrooms located on the top level including one smaller bedroom & two master bedrooms. One master bedroom with blue shag carpet, I shared with my younger sister. From as far back as I can remember in this home, I had terrible nightmares of descending the stairs towards the cold storage room , not able to turn back but feeling an impending sense of dread as I drew closer. I told my mum and since then she hung a framed picture of Jesus with cute lambs near the entrance of my bedroom door and taught me how to pray & put on the holy armour. The nightmares stopped for a time until really peculiar things started to happen. One is particular, I woke up from sleep to see a giant hovering white orb in front of my closet door, I was afraid but knew it could not harm me. When I woke up the next morning i told my parents about it at breakfast but no one seemed to listen or be interested in what I was saying, so I told some kids in my class at school again the same. It seemed normal to me that this might happen to anyone, but my teacher instructed that I should not share these things because it could scare the other students. From then on I learned to live with the strange and on another account when I was 8 yrs old I heard my name being called from the basement after shutting off the light to my bedroom. Thinking my mum was calling me I proceeded to go downstairs to find my mum in the laundry room also located in the basement, doing laundry and listening to the radio. I asked her if she called me and she said she didn’t, my father and sisters were out shopping so I knew something was off, began to feel dread and cry. My mother consoled me. When I was 10 my parents bought a parcel of land in the country to built their dream home. I noticed on the days we visited the empty forested lot, my mother was sprinkling holy water on the area my father and her planned to build our new house. She insisted it was important to cleanse the area and almost a year after the home was finished they sold the old home and we moved into the new one. A couple years later after feeling pretty settled in the new home and nothing strange happened, the topic of the old house came up over dinner. It seemed every one of my family members had strange ghostly things happen to them, but mine were the most vivid & intense. After we all shared, my parents said, ‘listen I didn’t want to tell you kids this when we lived in our old house for fear of freaking you out too much, our older neighbor across the street told us that a family with one teenage son lived in our house before us. When he was 15 years old he hung himself in the cold storage room. His bedroom was the master bedroom with the blue shag carpet.’ Knowing this was the old bedroom of me and my sister I was totally shocked! But relieved I know the whole story ... thanks for letting me share Roz! Looking forward to hearing this told through your voice, best L
