GND#54 Bek MacIntosh-Canada's Largest Ai Data Center-Olds AB Concerns Of Environmental Impacts

Rebecca MacIntosh moved to Olds, Alberta from rural Ontario in hopes of living the small town life. Surrounded by like-minded neighbours, from blue collar, to farmers and ranchers former corporate hustlers and nature, LOTS of nature. Enter Synapse Data Center-the largest hyperscale ai hub of its kind currently proposed for Bek's new lovely town. The catch? It's IN TOWN. Literally. She is currently the loudest voice vehemently opposed to this project, given the sheer size, over 300 acres, and power required to run this thing. The power includes over 600 diesel generators, a battery plant, and water, lots and lots of water, for cooling. We dive into exactly what this beast is, and its potential harms but most importantly the speed at which this thing is being proposed to approval. She is wondering, where exactly is the scrutiny, when is our world famous regulatory framework going to enter the fray? So far, it has not. Is there corruption going on here? Why the big push? Is this simply a provincial agenda for Danielle Smith in conjunction with Mark Carney and the Global Elites? Or is this simply a town looking to cash in? Before this sit down, I had virtually no knowledge on this subject and I wasn't necessarily opposed to data centres, but building one of this size and magnitude so close to town, raises many question. We get into it all folks. This will not disappoint! Follow Me ON: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/greatnorthe... GND#52 Chanse Vigen-World Champion : Patch, Politics and Purse Pursuits!

Chanse Vigen makes his return to the studio for the second time, AFTER his return to the Podium for the 3rd Time! He was joined by his lovely wife Brie Vigen in the studio, and was happy to provide Chanse some moral support, as the "Rangeland Derby Rockstar" was completely hungover! (Racing Season was a few days away) Chanse has pulled of 3 World Titles in a row for the Chuckwagon Driver of the year honours, and is gunning for his 4th this season putting himself into elite status territory. He's a good ole Albertan boy through and through, and I was delighted to sit down with the champ and share some vino & dip packets, while swapping some good stories.  We hammer down on some of Chanse's races, his scary Wagon flip from last season, his busted up ankle, the elusive Calgary Stampede Dash for Cash, and naturally (as I tend to do) it veers off into politics a tad. Alberta Separation does come up again in this one, as does our Oil Patch. In addition we touch on the "I'm Your Huckleberry" initiative started by Brie, that gives back to families in need. They've partnered this season with Paul Van Ginkel, a Calgary artist, who painted a stunning re-capturing of Chanse and his hoses mid-race from a previous still photo, taken by Shellie Scott. It is insane! There will be many size variations available for purchase with the proceeds also going to the "I'm Your Huckleberry" charity. I'd say Buckle Up, but it's a given for this one! GND#50 Dawn's Dirt-RURAL CANADA UNDER SEIGE! The Fight to Save the Family Farm

Dawn Buschert is a former farmer-turned homesteader. She lost her original farm due to unfortunate circumstances both in her personal life, and also in business. The bloated bureaucracy and ever-increasing regulatory on the farming and agriculture sectors in Canada has slowly been strengthening its grip on our farmers. We dive into some of the issues affecting our food pricing in Canada, and the recent traceability regs that have put a burden onto the already full work days of our farmers. This is especially concerning for our smaller farms in this country. It's added both fear, and confusion across the ag industry. Dawn now runs her own Podcast called "Dawn's Dirt" where she hopes to teach people how to grow their own food, a true farm to table business from their homes, or even their apartments! She is also a staunch advocate for farming in general, but most importantly she is trying to help stop the deterioration in the small-farm businesses. This was a great northern discussion, and I have become a big fan of Dawn's. She is a great speaker, with a huge heart! GND#49 Rod Giltaca-CEO CCFR The GREAT CANADIAN GUN MESS! $Billion Buyback Blunder

Rod Giltaca is the CEO at the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights. I messed it up right out of the gate! Maybe it's fitting I did looking back, as I'm pretty green on the gun scene, but I am a big proponent of property rights in this country! Rod is also a media personality with 2 television shows and also hosts and produces firearm-related content including "The CCFR Radio-On The Air" podcast.  Rod starts by indulging me in the re-telling of "where his love for guns origins story" It's a pretty wild tale to be honest, as he was not always a gun-guy. The crux of this episode was really to dive into the Liberal Gun Buy-Back program currently underway in Canada. There is a lot to unpack, and we do so. Plenty of chatter on Gary Anandasangaree, the Minister of Public Safety Canada, as we play some "leaked audio" from a brave gun-owner who confronted "Big Gar" in his own apartment building. We also get into a couple of different guns that would be deemed "illegal" by this Liberal Government, and show off what the guns actually look like, and what their actual capabilities are, automatic not being one of them! Rod is an excellent speaker, highly intelligent, and extremely thoughtful. He comes across as a kind human who truly cares about gun-owners in this country. It's an uphill battle currently, but it's a fight he's more than capable of taking on and he is proud to be a voice for the so many of the MOST VETTED CANADIANS in our country.  Follow the CCFR: https://firearmrights.ca/ Youtube: https://youtube.com/@ccfrtv?si=9U9OCTviN2VbHhjf Follow Me ON:  Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/greatnortherndiscussions/?hl=en Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/greatnortherndiscussions/ TikTok:  https://www.tiktok.com/@greatnortherndiscussions?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Intro/Outro Tunes: Back on the Farm-Shoot the Lights Out  https://www.stlo.rocks/ Episode Sponsors:  https://lonestardirectional.com/  Location: Studio Luma, Calgary Alberta :  https://www.studiolumayyc.com/

GND#48 Dallas Brodie-Graves or Guess Work? The Kamloops Narrative & OneBC Party

It's safe to safe to say that the Kamloops Graves discovery and eventual discovery of the "anomalies' via radar rocked the nation. Cries of genocide done by Candians on Indigenous children is a serious claim and will affect the course of Canadian history. Enter Dallas Brodie.  Dallas Brodie is a former lawyer-turned Politician who suddenly found herself at the epicentre of one of the most contentious issues Canada has ever witnessed. She was handed a file one day and asked to look into it. The rest is now only the beginning. Dallas decided to called out the fact that the residential school in Kamloops had received some 12 million dollars in funding, part of which was meant for the excavation of the unmarked graves. Nothing was done. And so the narrative grew, all with virtually no evidence, no witnesses, no parents seeking missing children, no statements from extended families corroborating their missing family members, nothing.  Dallas has since been calling it out, very loudly, leading to her being shunned from the Conservative Party in British Columbia, by John Rustad. She would go on to form the OneBC Party and seeking to right the wrongs of the Indigenous narrative that has been consuming the province, taking in gobs of funding, seeking to take property rights via land claims, the land acknowledgements that have become front and centre of every school and sporting event, and so on. She went on to make the Youtube documentary Making A Killing, which has garnered hundreds of thousands of views and growing, and we dissect some pieces of the film. Safe to say the documentary is eye-opening and should scare the living hell out of Canadian Citizens. We also discuss her recent visit to UBC where she was met with massive protests.  You don't want to miss the episode. Dallas is a warrior. She calls it like she see's it, right or wrong. Something that has been truly lacking from our Politicians in this country for some time.  To Watch Making A Killing: https://youtu.be/TSRn8BzpvLc?si=I6r7n14avEJKOgRh OneBC Party: https://1bc.ca/ Socials: https://x.com/Dallas_Brodie?s=20 Follow Me ON:  Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/greatnortherndiscussions/?hl=en Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/greatnortherndiscussions/ TikTok:  https://www.tiktok.com/@greatnortherndiscussions?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc   Intro/Outro Tunes: Back on the Farm-Shoot the Lights Out  https://www.stlo.rocks/ Episode Sponsors:  https://lonestardirectional.com/  Location: Studio Luma, Calgary Alberta :  https://www.studiolumayyc.com/
