Each week in the queer horror podcast Horror Queers, Joe Lipsett and Trace Thurman tackle a horror film with LGBTQ+ themes, a high camp quotient or both. For these lifelong queer horror fans, there’s as much value in serious discussions about representation as there is in reading a ridiculously silly/fun horror film with a YAS KWEEN mentality. Just know that at no point will they be getting Babashook.

So much fun!

Great spinoff from the Horror Queers article series on Bloody Disgusting. As a gay fan of horror movies, especially slashers, it’s so fun and entertaining to hear Joe and Trace talk about movies that I love and new ones that I discover through them. The duo has a great dynamic and because they don’t seem to know each other that much, it makes it very inclusive for the listener to be part of their discussions. Also, Joe and I clearly share the same celebrity crushes :)

Fat phobia is ubiquitous

I really want to listen to this podcast regularly, but bc the only line of dialogue in your intro is fat phobic and out of context, I always end up skipping it.

You can say it’s not serious/funny etc, but a queer podcast is in turn a political podcast, so I hope you’ll understand and consider removing it.

Best of luck. Horror queers unite.

Love it!

I loved the first few episodes, I was especially excited for ep.2 where you two were discussing the Scream franchise. You worded perfectly the sentiments that I’ve had for those films for years now! I also learned some new things. Very excited and curious to hear you apply a queer lens to other favourites in the future!
