    AI and COVID-19 Digital Disinformation Initiative: Alice Stollmeyer, Defend Democracy

    The "AI and COVID-19 Digital Disinformation Initiative" is carried out in partnership with the OSCE's Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media's #SAIFE project.
     
    Alice Stollmeyer is the Founder and Executive Director of Defend Democracy. A former Digital Advocacy Strategist, she has lived and worked in Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels, the heart of the European Union.
    With a solid background in ‘social studies of science, technology and society’ and in communication, in 2012 Alice founded her own consultancy @StollmeyerEU, which specialises in EU public affairs, political communications and digital advocacy. She has been ranked a top digital EU influencer ever since (#1 female digital EU influencer 2019 and 2020).
    In 2016 @StollmeyerEU broadened its portfolio: previously focused on energy and climate policies, now its focus is politics, digital developments and European values like democracy, human rights and rule of law.
    In 2017 @StollmeyerEU successfully accomplished a major assignment as interim Communications Director at the Women Political Leaders Global Forum.
    On 8 November 2017, Alice Stollmeyer founded Defend Democracy: an independent, nonpartisan, transatlantic initiative defending liberal democracy from internal, external and technological threats.

    AI and COVID-19 Digital Disinformation Initiative: Linda Slapakova, analyst, RAND Europe

    The "AI and COVID-19 Digital Disinformation Initiative" is carried out in partnership with the OSCE's Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media's #SAIFE project.
     
    Linda Slapakova is an analyst with RAND Europe in the area of defence and security. Her research focuses on the impacts of emerging technologies in defence, emerging security and information threats, and defence workforce and personnel issues. She has managed a range of projects for UK- and EU-based clients in these areas, and is experienced in a range of qualitative and futures methodologies including horizon scanning, workshop facilitation and evaluation.

    AI and COVID-19 Digital Disinformation Initiative: Naďa Kovalčíková, Alliance for Securing Democracy

    The "AI and COVID-19 Digital Disinformation Initiative" is carried out in partnership with the OSCE's Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media's #SAIFE project.
     
    Nad’a Kovalčíková is a program manager and fellow at the Alliance for Securing Democracy (ASD) in GMF's Brussels office. While working on ASD’s European outreach, she focuses also on transatlantic cooperation, NATO, EU – U.S. relations and emerging security challenges. In addition, she analyses information operations, efforts to counter disinformation and threats to democracy. She has developed her expertise through working at NATO, European Parliament, French and Canadian embassies, American Field Service and several NGO and think thank projects in Belgium, Canada, France, and Slovakia. Nad’a Kovalčíková obtained her PhD. in International Relations with a focus on security threats, and Masters’ Degrees in Politics and Government, European Affairs and International Economic Relations. In addition to being a native speaker of Slovak, she is fluent in English, French and Czech, speaks Spanish and has a basic knowledge of German.

    La Coalition canadienne pour contrer la désinformation en ligne sur la COVID-19 est un projet mis sur pied par l'Institut Montréalais d'Études sur le Génocide et les Droits de la Personne grâce au financement de Patrimoine Canada. Notre mission est de développer la littératie numérique et la résilience au sein de la population canadienne alors qu'ils font face à de la désinformation et de la mésinformation liées à la COVID-19.
    Dans le cadre de ce projet, nous organisons une série d’assemblée numérique sur des thèmes tels que l’influence étrangère, les théories du complot et les fausses nouvelles. Cet évènement se trouve à être le dernier de notre série d'assemblées.
