S3 Ep 5 Looking for Contributions, Not Silver Linings

It's amazing how contributions, small and large, are hidden in plain sight across a range of our experiences. How does looking for the contribution help you shift or adapt your perspective to the presenting situations you find yourself in? I'm not a believer in the notion that everything that happens to us is for our highest good; much different in my eyes, is a knowing that oftentimes there is also a lot of good embedded in even some of the most challenging moments or situations. So it's not about looking for silver linings, and it's definitely not about gaslighting ourselves into 'better-feeling thinking', but recognising that even in and amongst some of our most challenging situations, there may be a range of aspects or elements that, when we hone in on them, we can see serve us some way or some how. And sometimes just asking ourselves the question can give us a fresh new perspective, a different kind of knowing or understanding, or an opportunity to resource ourselves some way or some how, that's also true, even in and amongst the challenging. S3 Ep 4 Midlife is Not a Crisis with Terri-Ann Russell

In this episode, I have the absolute pleasure of speaking with Terri-Ann Russell of Sassy Soul Healing. Terri-Ann is a published author, frequency holder, and certified reiki master teacher. She's also host of the deeply insightful podcast Sacred Wellness - one of my favourites! In her energy healing work, Terri-Ann guides others through the sacred alchemy of awakening, loss, identity and rebirth so that they can become embodied in (and empowered by) their own light and love. Terri-Ann speaks passionately of a new kind of truth about midlife transitions. She's a wise and highly intuitive way-shower, illuminating how what is often such a negatively portrayed stage of life for women, can actually initiate our most profound and expansive growth and transformation. An invitation to shed what we are not and finally embody all that we are, should we wish to accept. S3 Ep 2 The Visible Mentor with Michelle Murphy

In this episode, we’re joined by the dynamic and impactful Michelle Murphy, titled Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, business owner and educator with over 20 years’ experience. Supporting women and health professionals through education, mentorship, and clinical care is Michelle’s proverbial jam. She's the owner of Mercy Physiotherapy, a well-established and thriving practice in Perth, Western Australia; and if that's not enough, Michelle has more recently founded Glow Pelvic Health too. Born in Tom Price and raised in a small town in Wheatbelt Western Australia, Michelle learned independence, resilience and the value of her time at a young age. While these qualities continue to serve her today both personally and professionally, over time Michelle has truly learned the value in ‘x-factors’ community and connection. Not having to do it all and learning to ask for help have fuelled some of her biggest development leaps. As a mother of two, Michelle is passionate about living an intentional, values-based life centred around health, family, connection, growth and impact. With her extensive clinical and leadership experience, including running successful business, she brings a wealth of wisdom to both her business and life. Today, Michelle has well and truly stepped into her mentorship era – a stage in her career that stretches her beyond the treatment room. Stepping out boldly and visibly, Michelle is intentionally scaling her impact in ways that invite greater freedom, by helping other health professionals learn, grow and deliver exceptional results in their own communities. Her latest gift to health professionals and, in turn, health consumers? Welcome Impact HQ. Impact HQ is a membership community for women in the health and fitness space who want to grow their impact, income and freedom without burning out. It brings together like-minded professionals to connect, collaborate and learn through a mix of education, mentorship and meaningful conversations, alongside premium in-person events and an online community. The focus is on building sustainable, aligned businesses while having more fun and support along the way. Outside of work, Michelle loves good food, great coffee, wine, adventure, friendship, and as we’ll learn curiously about her, a bit of drum and bass. And as a prolific reader, she's got some awesome book recs too. S2 Ep 6 - Changing the Lens with Karyn Clements

In this episode, we're joined by the immensely talented and dedicated Karyn Clements; multidisciplinary artist, creative director and founder of a boutique creative studio based in Perth, Western Australia. Since graduating a Film & Anthropology and Sociology degree in 2012, Karyn has photographed over 100+ weddings and celebrations over the last decade. But her story, like many of ours, hasn’t followed that proverbial straight line. Prompted by the devastation of Covid and with more than 12+ years of experience behind the lens, Karyn pivoted to creating websites, photographs and videos for small business; diving successfully into the world of design and art theory, evolving her business to centre around helping purpose-led brands show up authentically, creatively, and confidently — both online and in real life. Becoming a first time Mum in 2021 understandably shook Karyn's ideas and perceptions around what it meant to live 'successfully' and 'creatively' and challenged old ways and versions of her former self. Since that time, a late ADHD diagnosis has also helped her to understand herself in empowering new ways, many of which she shares with us openly and vulnerably. Today, fuelled with much growth, insight and many new perspectives, Karyn has reshaped a life of purpose and prosperity – life and business on her terms. Incredibly passionate about building high-impact brands for female-led founders, through strategic branding, visual storytelling and honest, human-conversations, today Karyn helps clients feel seen, comfortable & safe, and excited to step into their next chapters. S2 Ep5 Skin Deeper with Jadene Channon

For this month's convo, we're joined by the wonderfully real, relatable and talented Jadene Channon, owner and artist behind Perth-based paramedical tattooist B&S Cosmetic Tattooing. Originally from the UK now loving life in mostly sunny Perth,Jadene is proud mum to two boys. As a former hairdresser then cosmetic tattooist focusing on brows, Jadene is no stranger to running a small business in the beauty industry. Though it's been in more recent years that she's regained that 'oomph' in her heart as she followed its call into a new career path: as a paramedical tattooist. These days, Jadene works across gaps between the beauty and medical industries and has built a strong reputation for offering less invasive methods and techniques of scar camouflage and correction (she was one of the first artists in Perth to offer to Nue Conceal scar camouflage). Today, through the advanced tattooing techniques and inkless treatments, she helps people who struggle with the appearance of scars, stretch marks and skin inconsistencies, providing them solutions they may not have even known existed. Jadene's work isn’t about aesthetics in the traditional sense, it’s about helping people feel less distracted by their scars so they can move forward without them being a constant reminder. One needs only a minute with her to feel completely safe and at ease in her presence, and her passion and commitment to her craft is obvious. In this conversation, we talk a lot of 'shop' as Jadene openly shares lessons and challenges operating small business, her ongoing commitment to raising awareness of paramedical tattooing and bridging gaps for those who have felt overlooked in the beauty and medical industries; as well as sharing tips for others who may be thinking of venturing into the big and bright world of self employment.
