It’s a real shame to give such a low score. I have been listening/watching to WhatCulture since it was a simple list channel on Youtube and have watched it become this Juggernaut of wrestling editorials (no not journalism). It’s a real shame that amazing characters like Wilborne and Miller and even to an extent Hamflitt have to receive one star. The reason for this 1 star is very simple…..Sidge. He undoes all the good that Whatculture does for the wrestling world.
Sidge, let me ask you, if you were a new wrestling fan and turned on your podcast and listened to your part of the podcast alone, would you be inclined to want to watch upcoming wrestling shows?
You have one of the best jobs in the world and after each listen it seems like you hate your life and doing what you do is such a chore. I mentioned that I have been listening to Whatculture since before Sidge even got there. I have never left a comment, rating , review, but I could not take it anymore after my last listen. You took a very fun (not perfect by any stretch) Raw Netflix debut and made me question if I even had fun watching it the previous night. The worst part is I agree with some of your takes. I didn’t like the use of The Rock at all amongst other things, but I still had a lot of fun watching the program. Even when you do like something, you nitpick at the most inessential thing and by the time your done it seems like you didn’t enjoy it at all. It’s a real shame your co-workers have to suffer for the way you conduct yourself.
Adam Wilborne is a phenomenal host who is funny, witty, positive and I could not say enough good things about him.
Michael Hamflitt isn’t my favorite but I can at least respect his wrestling fandom and opinions.
Simon Miller is simply legendary and I do think he sometimes doesn’t critique things enough, he is a great listen (how does Sidge and this guy work for the same channel?)
Now I don’t like Andy Murray because he is very condescending but there’s levels to this and Sidge is so far ahead of everyone that Murray floats under the radar.
You once mentioned Dave Legrecas podcast because Bully and Dave were doing something with Ridge Holland. You had the nerve to say that you’ve never heard of it or never listened to it because and I quote “i have a life” followed by something of the effect of “and i don’t live in my parents basement”. You realize by saying something like that you are trashing every listener who listens to your show also right? And by the way, Legrecas podcast is the number 1 wrestling podcast in the world and has a 24/7 channel on Sirius XM radio. Maybe do a little research, as big as you guys are, they are bigger.
I’m contemplating not listening anymore. If Miller and Wilborne weren’t there, I’d say there would be a good chance I’d already be gone.
I really hope you guys do read this and take my critiques to improve your show.
