    The NFL dropped the hammer on recently departed collegiate quarterback Brendan Sorsby on Tuesday when they declared they would not have a supplemental draft and allow him to enter the NFL. Sorsby has become a controversial figure and the NFL was wise to make this move. Sorsby now needs to accept his fate and start taking steps to adjust his future. We also saw an extension for Kyle Pitts from the Atlanta Falcons and it is a bit of a shock considering how Pitts' career has gone so far for him and the Falcons. On Thursday, the United States national mens soccer team will play it's next match in the World Cup and makes you wonder what kind of lineup the NFL could put together if it had to. Obviously, the NFL players would not be the quality of our national team, but Lamar Jackson and Ja'Marr Chase sure seem like the kind of guys who could make an impact on offense with Kyle Hamilton and Will Anderson being quite the intimidating defenders.     The Minnesota Vikings quarterback battle may be the biggest question heading into the NFL summer break and one of Kyler Murray or JJ McCarthy is going to take the spot. While it is being sold as an open competition, it is hard to see a path where McCarthy actually wins the battle. Minnesota isn't the only place hosting a competition as the Cleveland Browns are letting Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson fight for a starting gig while the Atlanta Falcons have Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix squaring off. Injuries also are a big storyline to monitor and none bigger than Patrick Mahomes' recovery. The Kansas City Chiefs need Mahomes back as soon as possible. The Indianapolis Colts also want Daniel Jones back asap and it appears he is on a strong timeline as is Bo Nix for the Denver Broncos. Nix returned to the field for mini-camp. Finally, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens have dangerous expectations and are two of the most interesting teams in the league to watch as we head towards training camp.
