The End of Time and Other Bothers

I love this show so much! It’s my « happiness pill ». The sound actors/ improv artists are so natural. I can't believe half the story is improvised. But the fact it is improvised make it impossible to guess the end and it’s always full of surprises... and absurdities 😄.

Great sound design, fantastic characters and a good dose of silly makes for a really bingeable podcast. This was an absolutely terrific find.

The team behind this podcast have clearly worked hard to create a wonderful live-play (“improv”) game / fantasy story. But you’ll be too engaged by the trio of adventurers to be thinking about the technical skill at work in the background – a testament to their story-first approach and talented crew. My biggest difficulty is picking a favourite character. Darcy, Blat, and Eggerton each make me laugh and have won me over in different ways. I also appreciate that they’re relateably “not hero material” and that this story rises to above average game play creativity by presenting the characters with demanding challenges that aren’t all “kill the monster”. Cheers for levelling up that isn’t just violence-based... although Blat’s bazooka is admittedly handy.

Real play podcasts can be such a wonderful thing - a group of fun, creative folks crafting a world and storyline together. This has all of that and so many laughs in addition! Sean is a consumate GM, turning on a dime as needed, diving into the NPCs and making them his own, keeping the story moving forward while leaving room for the unexpected every episode. The players are fantastic, obviously having a rollicking good time even when things go off the rails. Absolutely up to par with any scripted fantasy!
