This is a good one, the premier Native Plant podcast in North America. There are other great shows like In Defence of Plants, Crime Pays, and Cultivating Place, but Tom and Fran are top of the heap at the moment for me. Great job guys.

Each discussion is insightful and nuanced and Tom and Fran are unafraid to give their opinions but also change them if new information is presented, with highly educated and experienced guests. They give me motivation for my own native plant journey.

I began listening during covid shutdowns. A perfect mix of humour, science and environmental concern. I find it such useful, relevant information. It’s Optimistic yet grounded, giving practical information on how to make a difference in our own backyards. I love tuning in to expand my knowledge. Wonderful guest speakers from professionals to everyday people making a difference. I look forward to new drops each week and love a native plant everyday! I now follow many more podcasts because of Tom and Frans guests and recommendations. I am also expanding my library of books. In the quiet of Canadian winter I am happy to keep learning about what makes the eastern North American forests my favourite place to live and explore. Our native plants and the birds they support, many of which we share from the Carolinas to the Boreal Forest, makes the information relevant across international, state and provincial borders. I’m an avid gardener and find horticultural fascinating, but thanks to this podcast I’m creating a Native Plants Healthy Planet garden around my home to prove just how vibrant and beautiful our native plants are.
