Season 1 Betrayal is an eight-episode podcast hosted by Andrea Gunning. It's the story of Jenifer Faison, a woman who reconnected with her college sweetheart, Spencer Herron, later in life. Jen, a reality television producer, picked up and moved cross-country to her new husband’s small town in Acworth, Georgia to be with her first love. Spencer was a popular soccer coach and a two-time "Teacher of the Year" award winner at a local high school. Pervasiveness of Systemic Misoginy

What I have a lot of respect for in this podcast is women having rallied together to heal from the false promises made to them by cheating husbands/boyfriends. We, as a society, have always chastised women who went along with cheating husbands. The female gender has always been labelled as temptress and males as victims of its sexual charms. This fact is the reason for the pervasiveness of the systemic misogyny scross all of our institutions; forever shaming women/girls victims of male predators. It is a real breath of fresh air to see women survivors help each other instead of accusing one another while finding excuses for the actions of the male predator. It is NEVER the woman’s fault for enticing a man’s lust. A man who cheats on his spouse does it from his own free will. Women should never, EVER, blame girls or women for their cheating husbands’/boyfriends’ cheating behaviours.

I gave up listening. Too bad because I used to really love this podcast. It’s not this sharing of the story that’s the problem. The woman was completely inspiring. It’s the formatting of the episodes. They’re drawn out and there’s so many episodes that I have to just skip over because it’s the same thing getting repeated.

Overall they are well produced stories, but 9 episodes for one story is excessive. This past season especially is really dragged out. Could’ve been over with in 4-5 episodes, max. The last few stories about related victims always gets skipped.
