With the First Pick: An NFL Draft Podcast from CBS Sports

There’s lots of podcasts with knowledgeable people but what gets me to listen to one is interesting personalities. Rick is funny how he gets on Ryan. Rick also has some interesting name drop stories (more behind the scenes!). Also they do a good job of reviewing college prospects. Prospect to review: anyone playing in Canadian college football.

The audio quality on the last podcast with the general manager, was absolutely awful!! Normally your audio quality is much better. At the very least, get your producer to take this audio file and put it through “Adobe speech enhancer”! This will clean up how thin and hollow it sounds. it will sound like it was recorded in a studio, rather than on somebody’s iPhone. *** this review is from an audio instructor for the last 15 years, and someone who has over 20 years of experience and broadcasting***

I deleted this pod cast for several months due to the reason below… but today I decided to try it again because this is the exact kind of podcast I’m looking for, a mix of what’s going on in the NFL now and a deeper dive into what’s coming up in the draft… Rick is very knowledgeable for the subject matter (just ask him, or don’t, he’ll tell you a dozen times an episode anyways), unfortunately that’s where the list of good podcaster traits ends. I wish you were even somewhat likeable, but you’re smug and condescending. It’s an impossible listen. Good luck Ryan

I assume no one has ever said “I like Rick.” But I figured this was well known. Shocking someone would pay him for a regular appearance on a podcast. Everyone else - and the content, in general - is awesome!
