Chapter 11: Clarisse Blows Up Everything | The Sea of Monsters

It's official. Here there be monsters... That's right! Percy Jackson and friends are crossing the threshold into the Sea of Monsters where they're facing down the biggest, most dangerous foes they've faced yet: the legendary Scylla and Charybdis. Connor and Jack are breaking down every moment of this chapter's heart-pounding action before exploring the depths of the mythology that these monsters have to offer. But that's not all because Jack has brought a brand new Ramblings from Cabin 6 where this time he's providing another historical deep dive into America's civil war. This time, he's covering Union hero Laura Jackson, a lesser known historical figure and sister of the famous confederate, General Stonewall Jackson, so be sure to stick around to the very end of this episode, so you don't miss a moment! An encounter with a hydra can't bog this chapter down! It's got Monster Donut in it! Percy Jackson and friends finish their escape from the Princess Andromeda, and Connor and Jack are breaking down every detail of the phenomenal character interactions they have along the way and their discussions within the demigod hideout they stop to rest in before the attack from the Hydra. Chapter 9: I Have the Worst Family Reunion Ever | The Sea of Monsters

I hope everyone at home is ready for a high energy episode because this one has everything! The stakes are high aboard the Princess Andromeda as we discuss our heroes encounter with Luke. A duel of wits ensues between Percy Jackson and Luke Castellan, and Jack and Connor are taking the time to analyze every detail of the confrontation. But that's not all this chapter has to offer. Tyson really shines in this chapter, so we're discussing what makes him such a valuable member of the team and part of the story and how he functions differently than Grover. And finally, we of course have a myth to discuss as we are introduced to the great-grandsons of Ares, the Bear Twins Agrius and Oreius! This Week's Myths: Agrius and Oreius The Oracle's Visions! Chapter 8: We Board the Princess Andromeda | The Sea of Monsters

Listen in as Jack and Connor find their spirits further revived as Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson navigate zombie passengers and haunting dreams aboard the Princess Andromeda. We're discussing Percy and Tyson's brotherly dynamic, trying accents from down-under, and—wait a minute is that Luke? We'll have to hold off on that distraction until the end because first, we have a princess to rescue as we discuss the myth of Perseus and Princess Andromeda in today's myth section! Chapter 7: I Accept Gifts from a Stranger | The Sea of Monsters

For another chapter where our main characters remain in one place, this one really moves things forward! Let us steal a moment of your time as Jack and Connor break down a chapter filled with intrigue as Percy and Annabeth work together once more to make a plan to save Grover and the rest of Camp Half-blood, battle wits against Tantalus, and meet with Hermes, god of messengers. And once you've enjoyed all the depth that this chapter has to offer, Connor is back with some rather unique myths this week that you won't want to miss! Connor is correcting Rick's mythological retelling of the story of the origins of the Golden Fleece, discussing hospitality in the ancient world, and even touching the surface of the modern mythology of the Bermuda Triangle. Chapter 5: I Get a New Cabin Mate | The Sea of Monsters

This chapter's theme? Torment. Percy and Annabeth are finally home at Camp Half-blood, but things aren't the way they left them. Like in Tantalus's eternal torture, our heroes are left wanting from their return to camp. Meanwhile, Connor and Jack are here to brave the exposition, break down all the important details, and complain about Chiron of course! And to round things out, we're learning all about Tantalus's punishment and what he did to deserve it with a detour into the world of his son, Pelops and some examples of chariot racing in Greek myth. Percy and his friends may have arrived at Camp Half-Blood, but this book continues to charge forward at a blazing pace! As Jack and Connor attempt to rein in another action packed chapter, Percy is battling against the bronze fire-breathing Colchis Bulls, a lesser known creature that the Argonauts encountered in their quest for the Golden Fleece.
