Brett Breaks Down His Season 4 Experience

Farmer Brett may have come across as the stoic one in Farmer Wants a Wife Season 4, but behind the scenes his personality got to shine through. We caught up with Brett Maverick, one of the three farmers featured in Season 4, after the season wrapped on our Farmer Wants a Wife Afterparty podcast to hear stories from filming, clear up some confusion and get to know the real Brett. During the Season 4 finale, Brett picked Quinn as the lucky lady to continue a relationship with, and they are still dating. And while he and Quinn enjoyed watching the season, he said a lot of what was filmed between the two of them never made it to air. "Y'all see about 20% of what gets filmed," Brett said. "There were so many meaningful conversations that never got aired. It's really not as cringey or as dumb as it can come off." Brett's farm may have gotten a bit of the short stick due to the lack of drama, which was featured more heavily on Braden's and Sean's farms. And one of the key things that was missing from the air time was the time spent on the farm. Brett and his ladies filmed a whole day working with his cattle, but only about a minute or so was shown. That day of filming was early on in the experience, and while Brett had to be present with the women, he was also focused on making sure his 3,000-pound bull didn't cause any problems in the pasture full of cast and crew. "I was a nervous wreck that day when we were feeding cows," Brett said. Overall though, Brett said his filming experience was a good one, adding that his producer and film crew were all the cream of the crop. "We had a really good crew and I got really close with all of them," he said. He also said he had a lot of fun with the women on his farm, and it often felt like summer camp. One of the first days on set, Brett said he told the women that they were just going to have a good time and get to know each other, which led to good conversations and deeper connections. But with so few of those fun experiences and deep conversations shown, Brett said that some viewers labeled him as dull or boring. That didn't bother him, though. "I could not care less of people's opinions of me," Brett said. "I think it's funny. What I was hoping was that throughout the season you would kind of see the personality come out more and more."
