Bracket Busted: Kean Moon’s Record Night & NLL Quarterfinal Chaos

Loose Mesh Podcast — Quarterfinals Edition The National Lacrosse League playoffs didn’t just deliver… they blew the bracket wide open. Top seeds are out. Momentum flipped entire games. And now, we’re heading into a semifinal round that feels completely unpredictable. This is the Quarterfinals Edition of the Loose Mesh Podcast — and we’ve got a loaded show. We’re joined by Kean Moon, fresh off tying an NLL playoff record with 6 assists in a single game as a rookie against the Buffalo Bandits. We get into what he was seeing on the floor, how the game slowed down for him in that moment, and what’s changed for him heading into the semifinals. Was that just a breakout performance… or the arrival of a problem for the rest of the league? From there, we turn the page and look ahead to the semifinals. Toronto vs San Diego — this one is all about pace versus structure. Toronto has been at their best when they’re pushing tempo, creating runs, and forcing teams into uncomfortable spots. San Diego, on the other hand, just proved they can win tight, disciplined playoff games. The big question is simple: who controls the game? Halifax vs Georgia — two teams peaking at the right time, but getting there in completely different ways. Halifax is coming off one of the wildest comebacks we’ve seen, riding emotion and momentum. Georgia is playing a more controlled, structured brand of offense with contributions across the board. Emotion versus execution — something’s got to give. We also bring in Fricks for a breakdown on some key rule interpretations and what we’re seeing right now around crease calls, replay, and how the Canadian Lacrosse Association’s standards connect to the NLL game. If you’ve been questioning some of the decisions this postseason, this segment adds real clarity. And on the Canadian lacrosse front, a major leadership update — Barbara Lockhart has been named the new president of the Canadian Lacrosse Association. We discuss what that means for the direction of the game in Canada and how it could impact development, governance, and the future of the sport at all levels. If the quarterfinals taught us anything, it’s this — there’s no script anymore. Not in this league, not in one-game playoffs. The teams that adjust the fastest are the ones still playing. Records tied. Upsets everywhere. New leadership in Canadian lacrosse. And a semifinal round that feels completely wide open. This is the Loose Mesh Podcast. Hosted on Acast. Week 15 Recap – What Just Happened?!

Week 15 in the NLL just threw gasoline on an already insane playoff race. If you thought the standings were tight before this weekend… forget it. The middle of the league just turned into complete chaos.Teams fighting for playoff spots picked up massive wins, while others dropped games they absolutely couldn’t afford to lose. And now the difference between a home playoff game and missing the playoffs entirely feels like it’s about two wins. Offensively, this weekend was wild. Big runs, momentum swings, and games that completely flipped in a matter of minutes. A couple teams looked like contenders one quarter… and completely lost control the next. Individual performances also stole the show. We’re at the point of the season where stars start separating themselves, and a few guys are beginning to make real noise in the MVP conversation. And the timing of all this? Perfect chaos. Because the NLL trade deadline is right around the corner. Front offices just watched Week 15 and now have to decide: Are we buyers, pushing for a playoff run? Or are we sellers, admitting this season might not be it? One thing is certain after Week 15. The March to May stretch is officially here… and the NLL standings just became an absolute war. #nll #lacrosse #boxlacrosse Powered by: @coolbetcanada‬ Use promo code MESH to double your first deposit up to $200 ‪ ‪‪‪@loadinglacrosse‬ Use TONKKA95 for 15% off at loadinglax.com (until Dec 23, 2025) ‪‪@Goaliefactory‬ Use promo code loosemesh for 15% Gatt Wealth Management For all your wealth, insurance and protection needs, give nathan and his team a call at Gatt Wealth Management. NLL Week 14 Recap: Chaos Before the Trade Deadline

NLL Week 14 Recap Week 14 in the National Lacrosse League delivered everything — overtime chaos, goalie masterclasses, statement wins, and a few playoff races starting to tighten up. Buffalo continues to look like Buffalo. Saskatchewan played two absolute wars. Halifax keeps proving they’re a contender. Vancouver keeps finding ways to win ugly. And Philly bounced back after getting handled the night before. We also had a cool moment this weekend — San Diego’s Marquise White scoring his first NLL goal in his first NLL game, something every kid dreams about growing up playing this game. And across the league the theme was clear: goalies were ridiculous. Vinc, Hill, Del Bianco, Jamieson — guys were putting up 40–50 save performances all weekend. With the trade deadline approaching and playoff positioning starting to matter more every week, the league is only getting tighter. Let’s get into the biggest games and storylines from Week 14 of the NLL.
