Wine for Normal People
A podcast for people who like wine but not the snobbery that goes with it. I talk about wine in a fun, straightforward, normal way to get you excited about it and help you drink better, more interesting stuff. About half the shows feature guests and are informal but educational discussions between me and a passionate wine friend –they aren't interviews. All guests are personal friends or friends of friends in wine so like any conversation between friends, we’ll talk back and forth, interrupt each other, laugh and have fun, debate tough questions, voice our opinions, and most of all, enjoy sharing our time together and with you! The Wine For Normal People book is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many local booksellers. Back catalog available on Patreon.com/winefornormalpeople

This podcast is educational. It includes tons of helpful information and a great sense of humour. My favourite advice so far is to check the appropriate serving temperature; this has changed my outlook on Cabernet Sauvignon. I started from the first episode and I can’t get enough 🥂🍷 Trying next: Cava and White Burgundy
Stop cutting her off!

I am enjoying the show. And having a lot of fun cruising the liquor stores armed a sense of adventure and suggestions of what to try! But … I wish MC Ice would let Elizabeth finish her thoughts and sentences before cutting it. I’d like to hear what she has to say before you ask a question or add your thoughts.
One of the best wine podcasts

Elizabeth is a great wine teacher. She keeps the show both informative and entertaining. I’ve been listening to this podcast for a month now and am learning a lot. Elizabeth is also very generous with her show notes. Those notes serve as a great supplement to her book, also called Wine for Normal People, a great read as well.
Generally Enjoy ... but ...

One of my favourite wine podcast series. But as a Canadian, I suggest maybe they preface their reviews with the fact that they really don’t know, or haven’t experienced enough of the Canadian wine scene to comment - a shortcoming I hope they are able to remedy once the borders re-open, and we return to some semblance of “normal”. Niagara in Ontario, and Okanagan in BC, of which they are, at least “aware”, have some amazing wines. Signature varietals in Niagara at the best wineries are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Riesling, with a growing basket of really good Gamay, and in good years, even some really good Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot blends, and Malbec. The best of these are outstanding, and, as always, the worst are worse than mediocre. I am not as familiar with BC, but with 300+ wineries, I am aware of, and have tasted, some great Merlot blends, Syrah, and Chardonnay, Riesling, etc. I hope these hosts are able to do some homework, and come to Canada to taste some of the best of the best. I am betting their tone on “Canadian wines” will change dramatically if they do.
