The Secret Process Behind the NASCAR Diecast with Lionel Brands Group

Kelley Earnhardt Miller welcomes Howard Hitchcock and Richard Barry, the CEO and COO of Lionel Brands Group, to the Business of Motorsports for a conversation that pulls back the curtain on one of NASCAR's most beloved and misunderstood businesses. What most fans see as a toy or a souvenir is actually the product of a 12-to-18-month process involving complex CAD data from OEM tech centers, hand-applied waterslide decals, Chinese factory peak seasons, and approval chains that run through teams, NASCAR, Goodyear, and every single sponsor on the car. Howard and Richard break down why scarcity is not a bug but a feature, how the collapse of single-sponsor deals reshaped the entire product line, and why getting confetti placement right on a Chase Elliott victory car matters more than most people would ever imagine. They also get personal, talking about what drew Richard to invest in a brand with 126 years of history, why Howard collects presidential china, and how a three-year-old kid getting a diecast signed at a fan event captures everything this hobby is actually about. If you have ever wondered how a win on Sunday becomes a collectible in your hands months later, this is the conversation that explains it all. Dirty Mo LIVE w/ Ryan Blaney presented by America’s Navy

Ryan Blaney joins Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi live from Naval Base Coronado – where NASCAR somehow convinced the U.S. Navy to let them turn an active military base into a racetrack. The guys share their first impressions of San Diego, debate what it actually takes to win on a brand-new street course, and how far back SVG needs to start to give everyone else a shot. They also reveal what their call signs would be if they were stationed here – you’ll laugh out loud at Jordan’s. Ryan is sitting third in points with the playoff cutoff approaching, so where does he think a driver needs to be to realistically contend for a championship? Some say top six … but not Ryan Blaney. The mustache is real, it's magnificent, and Roger Penske had thoughts. Ryan tells the story. Plus: Jeff and Ryan blind-rank which NASCAR drivers they'd trust to babysit their kids, Ryan reflects on life with blowouts and upset llamas, and more from one of the most unique race weekends in NASCAR history. Dirty Mo Live from Naval Base Coronado is proudly presented by the Navy. Want to learn more about what job is right for you? Visit Navy.com today to start your journey. America’s Navy. SVG and Connor Zilisch on What to Expect in San Diego

As Dale Earnhardt Jr. prepares for the Prime Video broadcast of NASCAR’s inaugural trip to San Diego, he sits down with road racing experts Shane Van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch. The guys visit the studio on the heels of the announcement that Red Bull will sponsor both of their cars at Naval Base Coronado. The deal also includes special edition cans of Red Bull featuring Shane and Connor. The guy’s chat about the impact Red Bull has had on motorsports and the importance of their return to NASCAR specifically.  Speaking of San Diego, the guys chat about the seemingly daunting course that has been laid out over Naval Base Coronado. Both Shane and Connor have spent time on the simulator to prepare, and they’ve both paid visits to the site as the course has been under construction. With a length of nearly three-and-a-half miles, the track will be the longest that Cup has competed on since their visit to Road America in 2022. Dale Jr. ponders what NASCAR’s protocol on caution periods will be, as laps under yellow will take nearly six minutes to complete. The interview also discusses growing pains in the Cup Series, what each driver learned during their time in the O’Reilly Series, and what is on the horizon for Trackhouse Racing.
