Finding Hope in Cancer Treatment w/ Dr. Antonio Jiminez

This is one of the episodes that has stayed with me since we hit record. Dr. Antonio "Dr. Tony" Jimenez has spent more than 30 years in integrative oncology, and getting to sit down with him and learn about his approach to cancer care was genuinely one of the most inspiring conversations I've had on this podcast. We talked through his 7 Key Principles of Cancer Therapy, and dove deep into nutrition, detoxification, and the connection between emotions and cancer — topics I know so many of you are curious about. If you know someone walking through a cancer diagnosis or treatment right now, please send them this episode. I think it will give them hope that there are so many options out there. Note: this episode was recorded in a different setting than usual, and you may notice a few small technical differences along the way, but we think our editor worked her magic, making it almost unnoticeable! In this episode: 1. The 7 Key Principles, explained. Dr. Tony breaks down why he believes cancer can't be approached from just one angle, and introduces the framework that guides his entire practice: non-toxic therapies, immunomodulation, detoxification, restoring the microbiome, full-spectrum nutrition, oxygenation, and emotional/spiritual healing. 2. Full-Spectrum Nutrition. Karalynne and Dr. Tony talk through what "full-spectrum nutrition" actually means, common mistakes people make with food and cancer risk, and where to start if you want to eat in a way that supports your body 3. The emotional side of healing. Dr. Tony shares what he's observed in patients who do the inner emotional work, and what he tells someone who's just been diagnosed and might be scared for the road ahead. 4. Light, sound, and hope. Dr. Tony explains the light and sound therapies he's worked with for over two decades Dr. Antonio Jimenez, M.D., N.D., is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of the Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers, with locations in Tijuana and Cancun, Mexico. For more than 30 years, Dr. Jimenez has focused his work on the study, clinical research, and implementation of integrative strategies related to cancer, chronic infections, and immune disorders. Known to his patients and colleagues as "Dr. Tony," he developed the 7 Key Principles of Cancer Therapy®, the framework detailed in his book Hope for Cancer: 7 Principles to Remove Fear and Empower Your Healing Journey. Dr. Jimenez and Hope4Cancer were featured in the Truth About Cancer docuseries, watched by millions worldwide, and he received the organization's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016. He is also featured in the MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) docuseries. His latest book is Cancer Outsmarted: 11 Integrative Hallmarks of Cancer to Minimize Risk and Optimize Health. From Seed to Scoop: Growing Microgreens Into a Daily Drink w/ Halie and Ricardo Camacho

This one has been two years in the making. I sit down with Ricardo and Halie, the husband-and-wife team behind Mico's Micro Farm, to finally tell the full story of how Just Ingredients' new microgreens drink came to life. What started as their own family's search for healing and health turned into a farm, a friendship, and now a greens drink flavored with only real food. In this episode, Ricardo and Halie on to walk through the whole journey: the health scare that started it all, what it really takes to grow microgreens the right way, why heavy metals are such a big deal in this category, and what it took to scale a small farm up to something that could supply this product. If you've been waiting for this drink, you're going to want to hear the story behind it before you try your first sip. In this episode: From family struggle to farm. Ricardo and Halie share how watching one of their kids struggle with their health pushed them to search for answers, and how that search turned into Mico's Micro Farm. The connection. Long before this greens drink idea came to be existed, Ricardo was personally delivering microgreens to Karalynne. Hear how that relationship grew into a 2+ year journey to bring this product to life. Why growing environment matters. Ricardo and Halie break down what makes their growing process different from typical produce farming, and why soil quality has such a direct impact on the nutrition and safety of what ends up in your kitchen. The heavy metal problem in greens powders. Not all greens powders are created equal. They explain why heavy metals are such a common concern in this category, and what their process does differently to address it. Scaling without losing quality. Going from local deliveries to a national product isn't simple. Ricardo and Halie talk through the unexpected hurdles of scaling up, and what they're most proud of in the quality they've maintained along the way. The Just Ingredients Difference. We talk about the many ways that this new drink is unique to any other greens on the market. We are so excited to get this microgreens drink into your hands. About Ricardo & Halie: Ricardo and Halie are the co-founders of Mico's Micro Farm. They started this after watching one of their kids struggle with their health and realizing how hard it was to find food they could actually trust to nourish them. Together they grow microgreens and turn them into powders and wellness blends that make real nutrition simple to add to your day. What began as their family's search for better food now supplies fresh product and ingredient-grade powders to brands they believe in, including the microgreens powder behind Just Ingredients' own products. Cellular Healing, Detox, & Hormone Balance w/ Dr. Daniel Pompa

Are you wondering if fasting will actually work for you, or why it hasn't worked the way you hoped? In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Daniel Pompa, a leading expert on cellular health and fasting, who shares the personal health crisis that first sent him down this path. He breaks down why fasting is doing something so much deeper in the body than most of us realize, and why it isn't a one-size-fits-all approach — especially for women. Here are a few of my biggest takeaways from our conversation: 1. Fasting is about a lot more than weight lossDr. Pompa breaks down what's actually happening on a cellular level when we fast — and why the number on the scale is really just a side effect of something much bigger. We also get into autophagy: what it is, when it kicks in, and how the body uses fasting to clear out old, damaged cells to make room for new ones. 2. Why eating less all day can actually backfireThis one might surprise you. Dr. Pompa explains why "grazing" and constantly under-eating can send the body into a stress response that actually works against fat loss and detox — the opposite of what so many of us have been taught. 3. Fasting as a form of detox We talk about how fasting helps the body release stored toxins as it burns fat, what "detoxing the cell" really means, and why your body won't prioritize burning fat or detoxing if it doesn't feel safe first. 4. Finding the right fasting approach for youFrom feast-famine cycles to block fasting to partial fasting, Dr. Pompa lays out the different protocols and who each one is actually for, plus the practical, real-life stuff: what breaks a fast, how to ease into it, and how to fit fasting into a life that includes kids, travel, and busy seasons. This episode is a must-listen if you've ever felt confused, discouraged, or even a little afraid of fasting. My hope is it helps you feel more confident about whether, and how, fasting fits into your own health journey. About Dr. Daniel Pompa:Dr. Daniel Pompa is a respected leader in the health and wellness space, educating practitioners and the public on the origins of inflammation-driven disease and the therapeutic applications of diet variation, fasting, cellular healing, and detoxification. Although trained as a chiropractor, his authority is rooted in his own battle, having overcome neurotoxic illness and heavy metal poisoning using his own unique cellular detoxification strategies. Dr. Pompa's journey back to health led him to a voracious passion for research and learning beyond what is often readily understood. A relentless self-experimenter with a passion for healing others, he speaks about removing the cause of illness and inflammation, going upstream, and following a multi-therapeutic approach to achieve healing. Dr. Pompa and his wife, Merily, live in Park City, Utah, with their 3 dogs and 2 cats. Their 5 grown children all professionally fulfill the Pompa purpose (and promise) as well. What Our Food Scientist Won't Buy at the Supplement Store w/ Ruston Pack

In this episode, I sit down with Ruston Pack, our Food Scientist and Director of Quality and Regulatory at Just Ingredients, who's spent 7 years in R&D, manufacturing, and food science, and has seen firsthand some of the wildest things that happen behind the scenes in the supplement industry. Ruston pulls back the curtain on what's actually happening inside a supplement bottle between the day it's made and the day you take it, and some of it might surprise you. Here are a few of my biggest takeaways from our conversation: Supplement labels don't work like you think We talk about the difference between a Nutrition Facts Panel and a Supplement Facts Panel, and why that distinction matters. Ruston breaks down whether the amount listed on a label is exactly what's in the product, and whether companies only have to hit that number on day one, or all the way through the expiration date.  Why supplements break down over time Light, oxygen, moisture, heat — supplements are fighting a slow battle against all of it from the moment they're manufactured. We get into why certain ingredients are especially hard to keep stable, and what you can look for as a consumer.  Gummies are the hardest format to get right If you've ever wondered why your gummy vitamins taste a little different bottle to bottle, this is why. We talk about why water is the enemy of stability, what actually happens to melatonin and other actives as gummies sit on a shelf, and why some companies use large overages to compensate. Ruston also gets into the creatine conversation, and why the gold-standard powder form gets tricky the moment it's mixed into a gummy or a drink. How to shop smarter We close out with the practical part: what to actually look for on a label, what separates a company that's cutting corners from one that's genuinely trying to do formulation right.  This one is a must-listen if you've ever tossed a supplement in your cart without a second thought. My hope is it helps you feel a little more confident reading labels and asking better questions about what you're actually giving your family. Tune in now and share this one with a friend who needs to hear it. Bio: Ruston is a chemist by education and a food scientist by profession. He has worked in multiple food and supplement co-manufacturing facilities as an R&D scientist and has extensive experience in formulation, ingredient validation, supplement facts panel verification, and batch corrections for major brands in the industry. He is deeply familiar with the ways companies use deceptive marketing, hide ingredients, and cut corners. Ruston has also studied analytical testing methods used to validate label claims and ensure product integrity. At Just Ingredients, Ruston serves as the Quality and Compliance Manager. He oversees and audits our co-manufacturers, protects product quality, and creates scientific substantiation files to ensure our supplement claims are accurate, compliant, and backed by strong research. What a Holistic Pediatrician Wishes You Knew About Your Kids' Health w/ Dr. Ana Maria Temple

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Anna Maria Temple for a conversation every parent needs to hear. We talk about what’s really going on beneath the surface when it comes to kids’ health—and how symptoms like eczema may be pointing to much deeper root causes. Here are a few of my biggest takeaways from our conversation: 1. Glyphosate exposure and children’s health We talk about glyphosate, a common herbicide found in many conventional foods, and why reducing exposure matters—especially for kids. Dr. Temple shares how environmental toxins like this can impact development and long-term health, including concerns around inflammation and chronic conditions. Choosing more whole, organic foods can be a simple but powerful step for families. 2. Eczema is not just a skin issue Eczema isn’t just something to manage with creams and topical treatments. It’s often a signal that something deeper is going on in the body—like inflammation, gut imbalance, or nutrient deficiencies. We discuss why it’s so important to look at the full picture, including diet and possible lab testing when symptoms persist. 3. The connection between eczema and other conditions We also talk about the patterns Dr. Temple sees in practice, including links between eczema, ADHD, and other immune-related challenges. This conversation is such an eye-opener for any parent who’s trying to better understand what their child’s body is communicating. My hope is that it helps you feel empowered to ask better questions and look deeper when something doesn’t feel right. Tune in now and share this one with a friend who needs to hear it. Why Stress Makes Weight Loss So Hard and What to Do About It w/ Jared St. Clair

In today’s episode, I’m sitting down with Jared St. Clair, owner of Vitality Nutrition, to talk about the connection between cortisol, metabolism, sleep, gut health, and overall wellness. Cortisol is often called the “stress hormone,” but as Jared explains, it’s not inherently bad. In fact, healthy cortisol patterns are essential for energy, focus, and helping our bodies respond to everyday stressors. The problem arises when chronic stress disrupts those natural rhythms, leading to imbalances that can affect everything from sleep to blood sugar regulation. We also dive into the powerful relationship between sleep, cortisol, and gut health. Jared shares how even one night of poor sleep can negatively impact insulin sensitivity and why ongoing stress may contribute to issues like leaky gut and metabolic dysfunction. Finally, we discuss GLP-1 and its role in appetite regulation, blood sugar balance, and metabolic health. Before turning to medications, Jared encourages listeners to address foundational factors like stress management, sleep quality, and gut health. We also cover lifestyle strategies and nutrients that may help support healthy GLP-1 production naturally. Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation: Why cortisol is essential for health—and what happens when levels are too high or too low How chronic stress can impact metabolism, blood sugar, and overall wellness The connection between poor sleep and reduced insulin sensitivity How elevated cortisol levels may contribute to gut health challenges The role GLP-1 plays in appetite regulation and metabolic health Natural ways to support healthy GLP-1 production, including prioritizing protein intake and key nutrients like berberine and bitter melon Practical tips for improving sleep and managing stress Whether you're struggling with energy, weight management, sleep, or blood sugar balance, this conversation offers practical tools to help you better understand your body and support your long-term health. Bio: Jared St. Clair has spent his life helping people optimize their vitality through education and supplementation. He grew up behind the counter of his family's health store, started managing it at 15, and bought it from his parents at the age of 22. Could Your Dental Work Be Making You Sick? w/ Dr. Michelle Jorgensen

In today’s episode I’m sitting down with Dr. Michelle Jorgensen, and we’re taking a closer look at dental health and how it can have a much bigger impact on overall wellness than most of us are ever taught. Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation: 1. Mercury fillings and what to know: Dr. Jorgensen shares her experience and what she’s learned about silver fillings and mercury exposure. We talk about why the removal process matters and why it’s so important to only work with a dentist trained in safe protocols like SMART removal to help minimize exposure during the process. 2. Root canals and hidden infection risk: We also dive into root canals and why they’ve become a point of concern for some practitioners. Dr. Jorgensen explains how trapped or residual tissue in the tooth structure can sometimes become a source of chronic, low-grade infection. 3. Wisdom teeth removal and proper healing: Another important topic we cover is wisdom teeth extraction and how technique can influence long-term healing. Dr. Jorgensen shares what to look for in a provider and why things like proper tissue removal and supportive therapies (like ozone) can play a role in reducing complications and supporting recovery. This episode is such an important one for anyone who wants to understand the connection between dental procedures and whole-body health. Bio: Today’s guest is Dr. Michelle Jorgensen, a former traditional dentist turned holistic health pioneer, who helps exhausted, health-conscious people finally feel like themselves again—by starting where health actually begins: your cells. She’s the founder of Living Well with Dr. Michelle and author of her newly released book by the same name, which reveals how to decode your symptoms and give your body exactly what it needs to heal, thrive, and stay energized—without the fads, overwhelm, or guesswork. How to Keep Moving Forward Through Hard Times w/ Ashleigh & Kara

In this episode, I’m sitting down with my friends Ashley and Kara for an honest, lighthearted, and powerful conversation about healing, resilience, and what it actually looks like to move through hard seasons of life. We laughed, we got vulnerable, and we talked through the real-life tools that have supported us through mental health challenges, business pressures, and everything in between. I left this conversation feeling so grateful for their openness—and I think you will too. Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation: The power of being a problem solver: One thing that really stood out is the mindset of “we’ll figure it out.” Whether it’s in business, motherhood, or personal struggles, approaching challenges with curiosity instead of panic can completely shift the outcome. There’s something powerful about not getting stuck, and instead choosing to move forward one step at a time. Healing is not one-dimensional: We talked a lot about how healing rarely comes from just one thing. It’s often a combination of supports—nutrition, movement, therapy, rest, community, and more. When we think of health as “multiple hoses on a fire,” it removes the pressure of needing one perfect solution and instead opens the door to a more holistic approach. You are not alone: Both Ashley and Kara shared parts of their mental health journeys, including seasons of depression and the long process of finding what truly helps. One of the most important reminders from this conversation is that your struggle does not define you—and there is hope, support, and help available even when it feels far away. I’m so grateful for this conversation and the reminder that healing looks different for everyone, but no one has to walk it alone. I hope this episode meets you where you are and gives you encouragement for your own journey.
