If you’re serious about the craft and/ or the business side of knifemaking, then knife talk is easily the most valuable podcast out there. Listening to this show has saved me years worth of (very expensive!) mistakes, and while I was catching up on their backlog it felt like I had an oracle on demand to help me solve problems as they emerged in my business.
Trust me, if you have a question, they’ve probably talked about it in the past. If they haven’t? Feel free to DM them on Instagram and they’ll probably cover it if they haven’t before. To be perfectly honest, not listening to knife talk is likely to cost you money in the long run, so it’s hard to believe that they give away their knowledge and experience for free.
Besides raw academics, the boys know that being entertaining is a huge part of the equation, so yeah you get to learn stuff, but the podcast doesn’t feel like a series of lectures. It’s just three friends chatting, cracking jokes, and giving each other a hard time. They bring a joyful energy to every recording so it genuinely feels like hanging out instead of going to school.
So here’s some unsolicited advice: Listen to Knife Talk, use their discount codes, and get better at what you do faster and have a blast while you’re at it.
